Ibarra would be the 3 hole hitter on 90% of the teams in the country fwiw
I know, but measurables still mean a lot and I can also see a lot of scouts not liking the high leg kick.
He'll probably be 15-25 round pick. The question is whether or not his intentions to come to LSU was strictly to prop his draft stock up for one year and then bolt.

Broussard will prolly play some summer ball
Doubt it, he had the surgery in September.

I'm going to miss that bullpen. Thats tough to see those 3 leave.

Bregman back in the left side
Bregman can't leave. he's a freshman

He meant that it would be awesome to have Ibarra back to play beside him next year.

So the top of our lineup next year could be like this:
1.) McMullen
2.) foster
3.) Bregs
4.) Ibarra
I can live with that

Not sure about Ibarra's situation, he is the only real question mark imo. He won't improve on the measurables, it just depends on if he wants to give it a shot now or wait another year.
Eades, Jones, Ross, LaMarche, and Rumbelow should all be gone.

Ross? No shot, IMO.

I can't see Ross or lamarche. Lamarche has barely pitche this year can't have more than 15 innings this year
Posted on 5/6/13 at 8:47 pm to Westlakeguy10
No chance Ross is going to go, his bat is what will keep him here.
Posted on 5/6/13 at 8:47 pm to Westlakeguy10
3-5 is probably a little high for Ross but he'll go in the top 10 rounds.
LaMarche already has one arm surgery and will be picked higher than he was last year. He'll go.

Lamarche has highest era 20 innings pitched an 9 runs allowed with 21 strike outs

If LSU makes a late run in Omaha more than likely you'll see Eades, Jones, Ross, and Ibarra come out early.
Rumbelow will draw interest but I would expect him back.
McMullen will be back.

Ibarra will prob get the Hanover treatment. I think he's a 4 year player.
As for Ross, i think he comes back. As good as he is with the glove, he simply isnt that great of a prospect if he can't hit.
He's more like a Matt Liuzza type. He was a 30th RD pick after his JR year. He didnt hit much(better than Ross though) but had a good glove/arm. I think he'd go around the 12-15th rd

Ross is batting so poorly, that he may be back next season.
His defense will be enough to get him drafted, and I dont think he's been hitting poorly, but rather has had the worst baseball luck of anyone on the team. Everything he hits is a rocket, but it seems like at least once every game he gets into a hard out.
The average certainly isn't pretty, but defense + power potential will certainly have teams looking at him in the Top half of the draft.

I can read the stat sheet, but organizations look at more than that. He was drafted out of juco last Summer a year removed from TJ surgery with worse numbers than those. He isn't going to be picked lower than he was last year and he isn't going to be in the rotation if he comes back.

It would be a bigger surprise if he's back than it would be if he left.
