what are you predicting this season? I'm not sure we'll take as big of a step back as most think. I think we'll be at least as good in the secondary as last season and the LBs will be better. On the DL I'm not sure how much different we will be than last season outside of depth. Mingo and Montgomery weren't as dominant in 2012 as some would like you to believe. Some of these young guys are going to have to step in and play right away

We started the most freshman last year, they all have experience and the freshman this year are incredibly more talented that last years bunch.

It'll be fun

ETA: Anyone else excited to see Tashawn Bower

We will be ok.
Our offense will be better and the defense will not have to be on the field so much.

Our starting 11 will the top 3 in the nation. It's our depth that concerns me.

Better secondary play

Better pass rush from the DEs

Good LB play

With the offense being better not as much pressure is on the defense to be perfect so hopefully we see Chavis let the DEs loose a little bit more. DT spot is the area that worries me the most. We need Freak to play like we all expected him to and Ego to step up.

They are going to have to. This is not an option.

Except that Minter was the heart of that squad and we're trying to replace him with DJ Welter. Enough said.

Yeah well we also lost Edwards and nearly everyone else who played. We're thin at DE. That's a fact.

Tre White is going to remind a lot of people of Mo Claiborne, wait and see.

We have too much talent to drop off that much. I do think we will be a touch weaker in the secondary. Stronger at LB overall (losing minter hurts, but this is where the chief comes into play and we theoretically have a lot of talent). Will have a drop off on the D line but probably not as severe as some are predicting. We will still be way above average there. So looking at it that way, we could be just as strong as last year, probably a little worse. But, one thing to consider is this. If our offense can stay on the fricking field with Coach Cam's offense, our defense should be much much better then last year. We lost a few games last year because the D was completely exhausted by the end of the game.

D line depth is concerning, experience is not. Mingo didnt play much in 2010 and sam was injured like 4 games in. Hunter and rascoe played in every gane last season. Even though hunter played st, still better than not playing at all like sam his freshman year.

What? Sam had 8 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss and was also SEC defensive player of the week twice.
