God damn, we are milking it for everything it is worth. It was bad enough that waitresses and hostesses got more money than they would actually make, but come on, they have to draw the line somewhere.

This is where most of the money should be going. You know, to fix what was indisputably damaged. Now if we could just get a certain someone to stop talking out of both sides of his mouth.... "Hey, look, I saved the coast! BP is paying for restoration. Now go pilfer the artificial reef fund."

It just annoys the shite out of me that a person would take credit for this while pilfering millions from similar, dedicated funds.
ETA - This is where I thank Capt ST and the likes for holding their feet to the first. Please, guys, go after the full $48M.

Hammer, we've been working on this since the June 2010. They promised the money then backed out, then sent some hush money. They killed a lot of marsh in some vital areas. O&G companies ripped LA's coastline up, it's only fitting one pays for a box of bandaids.

That's the next target.

I'd never wish a stroke on anyone, but that's the only way it's happening.

So, should the price of my waste concrete go up, like now?

Hell everyone of those SOBs talk out of both sides of their mouths. If you don't agree with my side, tell me so and why and lets move on. That whole thing about making everybody happy until it's vote time is BS.

It truly sickens me to see the amount of money some people who were not affected by the spill are getting just because they owned a business in Louisiana when that happened. I'm not talking businesses in south Louisiana. I am talking places north of I-10

This is just the first drop in the bucket. Wait till you see what we get if BP is found grossly negligent.
I was aware of ongoing design for everything but Breton Island. it surprised me. It must have been a bone to throw to Plaquemines o shut Nungesser up for awhile. It is so damn far out waves have plenty of fetch/distance to set up again behind it before they hit the first fingers of salt/fringe marsh. On top of that, the Master Plan pretty much aknowledged this issue by not proposing much for the Chandeleur chain.

Bankruptcy is not something you can just claim on a whim and a merger/acquisition would not eliminate their financial obligations. The new company would be on the hook for it.
