He was essentially the #2 behind Peggy when she was working over in their department right?
Yeah, I think so. But man, that's a lot of trust for Don to give him. It definitely makes sense, just weird to see.

True. I guess that's just the evolution of things though. Don's going to trust Stan (even Stan ) before he does any of those newer guys. I think he's mellowed way out though. And I'm sure the fact that Peggy thinks well of him probably carries some weight with him too.
What's crazy is Stan has actually been around since right before The Suitcase. It doesn't feel like that long.

Didn't Don say last night something to the effect of "we need a small team, noone can know, we'll use Stan because he has no morals/scruples?"

No, Ginsbergh said they used Stan because he had no morals when he speculated it was a government job. At least I'm pretty sure.
Don just said "It'll have to be a small team, and by that I mean Stan."

I didn't even recognize Ted McGinley in last nights episode.
Also: Serge Gainsbourg & Brigitte Bardot - Bonnie And Clyde (1968)

you're right, I had just misplaced the quote I guess.

I'm probably out of the loop but I just figured out that Don's new slam was the chick from Grandma's Boy.

Or Lindsey Weir from Freaks and Geeks (I looked her up after you said something, and finally figured out where she was from when I saw another picture.)

She was on ER for several seasons too. And Velma in the Scooby Doo movies.
I also appreciate the Sunshine nod even if he's a flaming douchebag.

Just finished rewatching. Was Joan married once before (before the show started)? Sister mentioned "Scotty" and Joan replied, "Well don't marry him. That was the worst 6 months of my life."
What does Cooper have against Harry? He implied in the partners' meeting Harry would never make partner, and later took offense when Harry compared himself to him.
Did Ted Tschough rat SCDP out to the bean manager? Ken comes in and bitches about them pitching the ketchup people, and Ted orders a drink with a smirk on his face.
How mad is Stan at Peggy? How soon will he forgive her?

I don't think so, think she just dated him.
Harry is such a douche, he's like the Jerry of SCDP(parks and rec reference.)
I don't think he will forgive Peggy, that's a pretty big betrayal, especially bc she didn't even give him a headsup

Think it makes perfect sense really. He's been shown as kind of a goof but from the first time introduced (back in Season 4) Stan's been the head of the art department of SCDP. Peggy was (I'm assuming due to how she's been presented) the head copywriter when the new firm was started. Both of them were essentially number one in their own divisions. Don, as head of creative, was over both of them.
I'm under the assumption that Ginsburg now has Peggy's old position but seeing as Don knows how to write copy and is head of creative, he took on that role for the Heinz pitch. Stan did the art. Pete did the accounts work.

I'm trying to figure why Joan is an absolute bitch in this episode? I know she's always had her moments, but she just came across aggravating to me and I absolutely loved Harry
He was right as Joan is a whore and acting like a bitch at the same time. Not liking her right now.
frick Peggy for doing that to Stan. The bird flip was hilarious. As was when he and Don smoked the joint and shared a laugh. Don's ad was better, just not delivered the best.
Gotta love hypocrisy as Don can't stand Meghan acting or kissing someone, but Don is an actor in his own right and cheats for real.
I hope someone beats the shite out of Pete again.
Roger finally had a funny line again tonight. We need more Roger.
Wondering what's up with Dawn and why they're showing these scenes and if this leads to anything?
Anyway, great show, was a great episode.

She was most definitely married to the Army guy who is the father of her child. He was on the show for quite a few episodes a couple of seasons ago.
That's where the last name Harris comes from.

I think all of you are smoking the same shite that Stan and Don were smoking.
I think Peggy's ad was clearly better.
Artsy, esoteric, and subliminal are ok for something like Jaguar or Pan Am, but it's fricking KETCHUP.
KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid.
Peggy's ad is straight, simple, and to the point. frick every one else. We are Heinz. We're the best. I know it, you know it, we all know it.
(Full Disclosure: I would rather bleed on my French Fries than put anything other than Heinz Ketchup on them)
I think it's way more effective. You don't want to have to think about ketchup.

Joan's ex was Greg Harris.
I think it was more Joan referencing having to console her sister after the last failed marriage instead of Joan commenting on her own marriage. Joan and Greg were married back in Season 3 and it stretched up until at least Season 5 so with time jumps that had to be quite a bit longer than 6 months.
