Strawberry Salad
Spinach leaves with strawberry balsamic vinaigrette, feta cheese, sliced strawberries, and toasted almonds and pecans.

16 oz. choice NY Strip from Rare Cuts uptown New Orleans

Strawberry Shortcake Angel food cake, cool whip, sliced straberries, and fresh strawberry syrup.

A $3 bottle of the finest Whole Good's brand Three Wishes's Cabernet

Heat 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water in sauce pan until clear. Add 3 cups sliced fresh Ponchatoula strawberries and simmer for 3 minutes. Cool and strain berries.

Add strawberry syrup and balsamic vinegar at a 1:1 ratio. Add 1 egg and whisk to combine. Slowly drizzle olive oil into mixture while continuing to a whisk causing it to emulsify. Add salt and pepper.

Wash and dry spinach leaves and coat lightly with olive oil then salt and fresh cracked pepper.

Added toasted pecans and almonds, feta cheese(I'll use goat cheese next time for more tang.), strawberry balsamic dressing, and sliced strawberries.

Heated cast iron skillet in the oven at 500 for 20 minutes. Coated steaks in olive oil, salt, and pepper. 2 minutes each side, then into the oven for 1.5 minute. Pulled skillet back to stove and placeda couple pats of butter on the skillet, tilted it up and basted the steak in the butter.

I topped the steak with some fine smoked finishing salt. Cover and rest for 8 min.

Plated steak

My gf killing it with the Strawberry Shortcake; angel food cake, 2 cups of sliced strawberries and cool whip

Layering some in Tupperware for lunch this week at work

Layered Strawberry Shortcake with angel food cake, strawberries, and cool whip and coated with fresh strawberry syrup. My girlfriend is awesome.

Everything comes together

My bulldog Beasley hanging out and hoping for a couple scraps. There wasn't much.

Sometimes I like mine just a tad more on the rare side, this was more medium, but it was delicious. so juicy and flavorful. Rare Cuts has some of the best meat.

Finish with a little something sweet

There's something about red meat and cast iron that really turns me on.

Did y'all romantically feed each other, or did you get a couple more plates out?

This gets you street cred, folks taking pictures in restaurants does not.

My only objection is to the cool whip. Homemade whip cream dominates cool whip.

That pic of your dog reminds me of my old bulldog. Eye gunk and all.

Bout a week ago, bought a half flat of strawberries from CCFM. Some went into ice cream, but most of them were hulled, tossed into a gallon mason jar, and then covered with Cathead Honeysuckle vodka. Few days later, strained the booze, saved the strawberries. Keeping the booze in fridge and it is great with lemonade or straight. The strawberries aint too bad themselves.

Looks good, I bought a flat of strawberries yesterday and had some shortcake myself. Oh and judging by the dog I lived across the street from you in college.

Holy crap he looks just like my Ryno. EXACT same coloring and pattern except his "racing stripe" on his back right leg comes up another 2 inches or so.
