OBers, with the yak coming next month, I realize that my tackle arsenal is looking pretty sad.

Outside of a spinnerbait, junebug lizard, and Kastmaster spoon (my universal go-to), I have never used many other lures. I have a Rick Clunn baitcaster from BPS on a 6'6 MH All star (my only reel). What are some basics to get me going?

Thanks for the info guys, I would rather not look like a total amateur out there. What are some go-to lures for the elusive sac-au-perch? Last one I caught was on a chartreuse chatter bait on Caddo when I was bass fishing...never targeted them though. I usually just jig the spoon for white bass..

3/8oz. White Spinnerbait with single teardrop spinner. Watermelon flipping jigs and watermelon red or watermelon candy baby brush hogs. Strike King buzz bait, I find the 3 bladed version gets on surface quicker and stays there at slower retrieves than two blade variety.

I prefer TruTurn hooks if I can find them. They are elusive though.

I am having a hard time getting adjusted to casting out of them because I sit so low to the water. Other than that, I love fishing out of one.

A hook and a shiner..........

sometimes a jig.

Live bait is the best bait.

Is that a common characteristic with all of them or more your model?

Sounds good. There's so much water to fish around town it's unbelievable.
