For sure, any non-overclockable i5 is out of the question now. Otherwise, it really doesn't matter, because if your frame rate is at all limited by your CPU, you've fricked up.

You will recover, I promise.

What do y'all think about 32" 1440p monitors? I really like 27", but I found a good deal on a ASUS PB328Q. I sit probably 2ft away from my monitor now. Would 32" be too big for my FPS games (PUBG and H1Z1)?

IDK.
@ 32" I would prefer 2160. 1440 @ 27" seems like the limit i'm comfortable with now.
I have 2 x CrossOvers 32" 2160s. Feel as though that is a good spot. The same as I felt with 27" 1440s.

I got a 32" TV for my kitchen just a few weeks ago and that reassured me 27" is as big as I want for PC. Just too big imo.
I absolutely love my 27" curved monitor, very immersive but takes some time to get used to.
HDR is still broken in Windows 10, has been since April when they introduced it. Works for games of course but not the desktop.

Think I'll be grabbing the 8700K when it launches, appears to be a beastly chip especially for that price. Reports of OC's hitting 5.3GHz.

Now when it comes to overclocking, there are kind of mixed reports. One Chinese source has said that 5.3 GHz on the Core i7-8700K and 5.0 GHz on the Core i3-8350K are possible with simple core tuning but you would require a good AIO cooler or high-end air coolers to keep these chips cooler under load.

What's a good malware program these days? My league acct got hacked. PC should be clean but just want to be safe.

Malwarebytes if you're wanting free.

Used to think this about 27" until getting a 32".
Guess it depends on the desk. Plus my CrossOvers are small. They don't have all the stupid shtt on the back that comes with a TV.

We swam with about 200 spinner dolphins last week in Maui. Was pretty damn cool to be in the middle of it all.

Damns you rich ppl.
Edt: Maybe I could afford something like that if I wasn't exiled from Texas because of Harvey and now paying silly Lake Charles rent prices.
Man wtf is up with the rent prices there. How can normal locals with normal jobs afford it? Not only that, but McNeese students staying around campus but not on campus. We just put a deposit for a townhouse off of East McNeese and it is crazy town. $1200 for a decent townhouse which IMO should be around $850.

Not rich. Just fortunate to be in the position I am and travel / live wherever.
Leave for a week in Mexico Monday then come back to Cali for a week and head out to Vegas. May move to the South of France for a few months around April of next year.

Rent inflation. You can thank the LNG projects for that. It just started 2 or 3 years ago.

It really is insane. I think about the prices students from out of town or first time renters at 18-22. I know I couldn't afford paying that type of rent alone back then. Guess it's a must for college students to share bedrooms, idk.
