In an effort to spend tax dollars, for the cause of Coastal Restoration, additional Mississippi River diversions will be created. This could be a disaster for LA salt fisheries and likely to cause the opposite of the intended effect. Looks like another case of misguided government. Want to help with giving them push back on this?

Would you recommend losing all of the coast?

The coast did thrive before we bottled it up, didn't it?

We know that some of these projects will be harmful to fisheries in the short term, but I believe that coastal restoration overall will benefit long term fisheries, but who the hell really knows?

Sorry but i can't agree on this one. Being someone that lives so close to so much coastal erosion i have seen first hand how much land we have lost. I would rather have a further run to catch a speckled trout than have everything wash away. Fresh water into the marsh is a good thing almost instantly freshwater grasses take over creating land.

I won't matter...builds marsh....puts rich silt in other places....which will create more shallow marsh pools for shrimp...which will make the speckle trout and redfish pop jump....do some research.

The marshes are doomed. That concerns me more than the fishing.

I have a friend who worked over five years on this project, along with many others, for LA Coastal Restoration.

He would disagree with your doomsday theory. I've asked him. Even the short term impact is negligible when compared to other options.

The plan is public record. I need to go through it all to formulate my own opinion.

Anyway, just letting you know that the men and women who researched and designed the plan didn't just throw it together overnight.

Most of those men and women are Sportsman, like yourself.
