The Blue Crab. This is the one next to Landry's and from reading the website, they will be opening soon. Also says they will be serving fresh La seafood. This already gives them a huge plus for me.
Anyone know the owners and what kind of history they have with restaurants.

Also noticed another much bigger and nicer looking place going up back closer to condos. Sign just says new lakeview restaurant and bar coming soon. Looked like a nice upstairs deck being built on.
What's the scoop on this place?

This article says the Blue Crab was supposed to open back in November.

I think that is Chef Duke from Cafe Giovani's new place.

Article written up on it back in September LINK

Kent Burgess, whose family served up seafood on the lakefront for more than three decades at Sid-Mar's, has been tapped to lead a new restaurant and fish market planned for a waterfront perch on New Orleans' Lakeshore Drive.

That sounds kind of promising. I know chef Duke was originally going to be involved with this one, but backed out. I think original opening date was last July, but I kind of forgot what was going on with this.

I thought Chef Duke backed out that project.

Life will be great if these two end up being local and knock Landry's out of business.

be nice to have a restaurant you can pull your boat up to other than Landry's.

One of them is called "Brisbi's," its the one where Acme used to be. I don't know anything about it other than that a couple of dudes (also from the LV) I went to high school with are involved in the project, simply because I see them post pictures of the construction on facebook every few weeks.

Brisbi's is on FB. Looks like its going to be at the least a good drinking spot. Not sure about the food, though. I know the main proprietor doesn't have any previous restaurant experience.
