depend on the type of neighborhood you want to be in...

$350k will get you a small place in Southdowns/University Acres/Garden District, or get you a 4 bedroom place in Hillridge.

We need more details of your preferences...

$350 will get you a very nice trailer home in Livingston Parish. Or you could get two - one for you, one for the meth lab. It pays to be careful ...

You can find some deals in Bayou Terrace, River Highlands, or Waterfront East right now in that price range.

Badace in the summer, too. Pharmacy, multiple very good eating options, full-sized grocery w/deli/butcher/vino/booze selection that's legit, and all the fun you could handle out of your backdoor within a five minute's drive. Hospital & places of worship easily accessible and <10 minutes away.

Waterfront living is where its at, homey.

Download Zillow for your iPad or iPhone. Works great on an iPad. That's all you need. Only talk to a realtor if you have to.

Also check out for sale by owner. If you find a home on this site you don't need a realtor. Just decide on your Mortgage company and they will handle everything and you will save $$$ in realtor commissions.

Tara. Convenient to everything, mature subdivision with sidewalks, mail delivery to your door, underground utilities, large lots, high ground with no flooding, and almost non-existent crime. Homes in that price range will 4/3 and nicely updated.

I'd look into The Settlement OR Rouzan. Though they may be out of your price range.

ETA meant to say the settlement or Rouzan as in the settlement at willow grove. Residential side of Rouzan is already under construction as well.

Really depends on where you plan on working, and how important entertainment is to you.

I'd honestly look at something in the old Goodwood area, Claycut, and parts of Zeeland Gardens.

Do you have a real estate agent yet? My buddy knows the area really well and he is a buyer's agent, I can send you his contact info if you'd like
