Cop was plain clothes and allegedly never identified himself while chasing the first kid. Long article, but worth the read - not sure who's right, but is somewhat eye opening:

really does sound like a bunch of BS. I doubt anything comes of it in the end.

Ricky and his friend just came to the defense of a buddy who was getting attacked by some white dude.

And I fricking hate Jordan Jefferson. Not at all knighting for the kid.

That sounds like a good theory but I'm gonna go with the police version that Ricky and his boyz were patrolling the parade route for cops to jump.

It's Louisiana Weekly - seriously, what do you expect them to write?

I have seen, all too many times, police act exactly as described in this article; I despise thuggery -- especially when it's by the police. The charges are serious, and the accused are presumed innocent. So far, the evidence clearly supports innocence.

Total different take on the Ricky Jefferson saga

This is not a different take. It's a nearly identical take to someone who posted in that first thread when this story hit that has connections to Destrehan. Those with a dislike for JJ had no interest in hearing it, and immediately labeled him and his friends thugs.

The only thing remarkable about this story is that it's taken this long to come out...but it's nearly verbatim to what we heard that day from that poster with Destrehan contacts.

This should have been obvious to anyone with a brain after reading the first report.

But no, idiot rantards find it perfectly believable that this senior in high school with a full ride to LSU for football decided to start "punching the detective" with his badge displayed and probably gun or cuffs out and immediately began calling him a thug pos and bashing his brother who got in a barfight once with several other players and was in an apartment where weed was found.

Gotta love fans on message boards.

Louisiana Weekly/DR

It's another he said/he said deal. No one will ever know the truth

I was suspicious when the initial report put out by the PD said that the cop originally (I hope I am remembering this correctly, this from my recollection of one of the original articles)told RJs friend to watch his language (at a Mardi Gras parade, no less) and then proceeded to try to arrest him (on what charge exactly, I am uncertain) when the kid told him what to do with himself.

Something just sounded wrong there.

I'm sure it's all Miles fault, anyway.

Like I said before Ricky will get another shot to prove he is not a problem just like Mett and Jeremy Hill did. What he does with it is up to him.

Seemed strange from the start.

If the kids story is actually the truth, then I hope the JP gets fired and goes to jail.

I don't know what the truth is, but that article comes across as biased.
