LP stadium is awful. Why is that their stadium, is that the best Nashville can do?

From one of today's rotoworld updates:
quote:

Though never blessed with a cannon arm, Hasselbeck can no longer drive the ball without putting significant loft underneath his passes. Across eight appearances (five starts) last season, he managed a 6.2 yards-per-attempt average, going 2-3 as a starter and accounting for seven touchdowns compared to six turnovers.

I can agree with a lot of what you're writing but let's not make Hasselbeck out to be a world-beater and offensive savior. If the Titans want a QB that can't force safeties back to open up running lanes, I know they can do it for cheaper than the 5.5 million that was going to go to Hasselbeck.

We've only been around since 95 though. What's the excuse for franchises like Atl, Buf, Cin, Cle, Ten, etc. not winning a SB yet?

in terms of ownership, were at the low end of things, but as horrible as the last few years have been, if you look at the franchise since we moved to tenn., were in the middle of the pack. we've had some horrible draft selections and free agency moves though.

Bud could pull off crazy a$$ moves when he had a solid coaching staff. Nashtenny is a football lovin fanbase. They still, for now sell tickets, but need a team with some kind of identity.

I like the hell out of Munchak but he's yet to show me that he's not Tice without the pencil. Same for Locker, but never saw anyhing he did at UW that earned him a franchise pick. Could be dark days for a while, but I truly hope I'm wrong.

Did the Jags drop football? Did the Browns move out of Cleveland? I could probably go on.

while it's certainly not "awful", it's definitely in the bottom third of NFL stadiums. It's not necessarily that old (15 years or so), it was built on the cheap (imagine that with bud adams) and done relatively quickly (compared to other stadiums).

Bottom line is Nashville needed a stadium quickly... the oilers/titans spent a year in memphis and a year at vandy... they were a franchise without a home.

The next stadium (no current plans, I believe) should be considerably nicer.

Titans fans care a lot.

Nashville is a great sports town. If that team has a pulse, those games have great energy. I go to a lot of them. Its a damn shame Bud Adams is such a moron, these fans deserve way better.

ETA:

Look at how they have embraced the Preds. Its a great, great sports fanbase

Titans were a model of consistency during the Jeff Fisher era. There are many worse teams than the Titans.

titans fans didn't realize what they had with Fisher... he helped cover up for abysmal ownership (remember, bud was the brains behind taking Vince Young) and lackluster drafts (granted, some of that falls on JF's shoulders).

The current make up of the Titans Ownership, front office, and coaching staff is just plain bad.

Exactly. The fanbase and the city is there. The Titans just need to be in the playoff hunt. Keep fans excited the whole season.

Looks like they signed Fitzpatrick. That's an upgrade over old man Hasselback
