Fire and Rain by James Taylor gets me every single time. Also, Daniel by Elton John gets me because that was my late fathers name.

For some reason, Here's To The Night by Eve 6. Reminds me of the good ole days.

As soon as I hear this song I think of high school relationships/graduation.

Freebird was one of my best friends favorite songs. He died in a car accident my junior year and I was the first person to talk to his parents literally seconds after he died in ICU.
Held my composure until I got to my car, had to tell like 10 other students in the hospital to turn around because he had just died and his parents needed alone time. Had to tell the priest at the hospital who had prayed over him the past 4 days too. Broke down when I finally made it to my car, and lo and behold Freebird was on the radio.
I can no longer jam out to that song. I usually change it when it comes on the radio in fact.
ETA: other than that I'm good. She Used To Love Me A Lot is a sad Coe song.

geez hell yes. And sometimes it's not even for the lyrics, they just have a sad sound.
Take a bow by Madonna and there's another song (I think it might be springsteen, memory is fading) that's kinda slow and one of the lines is "she'll let you in herr carrr" or something. The music in them is just sad. Can't listen to em.
How's it gonna be by Third Eye Blind is especially sad to me. Just how 2 people in love can drift apart and not know each other. Sad stuff, especially since I'm sorta going through this now.
he stopped loving her today by George Jones. Although that one isn't really THAT sad to me, more happy that he loved her his whole life.
Tears in Heaven. Geez no explanation needed.

"Ashokan Farewell" the theme song of the Ken Burns Civil War series, has a pretty melancholy air to it.

Yes, and they're all in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why.
