Tie between HUSTLER/HUD: He carries Angst and Anger around with Him like a Wrinkled Overcoat. He made me Despise those Characters.

I'm a huge fan of Larry McMurtry but I've never seen Hud.

Anyway, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Man, Newman should have won Academy Award for that. He is despicable.

I need to watch more of his movies, but as of now it's Cool Hand Luke. He isn't even the major player in my favorite scene. The car washing scene. Just imagine the desire of being on a chain gang watching that thing wash the car. Very powerful stuff.

I'm a huge Newman fan but today I'd go with The Hustler.

But this is one of my favorite scenes:

Yeah, another Sterling Performance. He wasn't taken Seriously Enough because he was too Handsome/Charming.

I've actually not seen a lot of PN films, but I can't imagine I'd like him in anything more than I did in Cool Hand Luke.

My dad had this on laserdisc when I was young. I was only 4 or 5 years old and I loved the movie. I watched it with my wife for the first time in a while. She had never seen it. There was so much in that movie that was lost on me when I was a kid. The dialogue is great and the scenery is beautiful.

Cool Hand Luke by a mile.

It has sentimental value to me.
