I know Cincy had the #6 defense last year and #7 in 2011....

ultimately, it looks like more of a reaction to the bench and not the rest of the running/ drills. which it seems he's doing well with. so looking at the total picture, Zimmer may end up liking him.

yep, really good defenses.
now if they said that the saints were not impressed with mathieu, then the laughing emoticons should ensue.

Prolly sandbagging.

I would actually be more inclined to say if Zimmer is publicly talking him down....they are interested.

All it takes is 1 team to fall in love with a player to see him go earlier than predicted (Tim Tebow anyone?)

I'm laughing for a few reasons.
1. The Bengals are notorious for "questionable" character guys.
2. The Bengals, while good as of late, are still the Bengals.
3. They're sandbagging.

The Bengels have never NOT taken some guy with character issues. NEVER. Mathieu has dominated the discussion at the combine. Everybody is talking about him. Saban passed on him when TM showed out at his camp; Kiffin passed on him when TM showed out at his camp; They looked at his size and said, well,he's dazzled me with plays, buy my eyes are lyin, so i'll pass. He's going to go quicker than most thought and he'll probably ball out in the NFL and they'll be TD posts for years on TM7 both hating and praising him. If he's really good, look out Richard Sherman cuz your place as the mouthiest DB will be overtaken, lol.

Smoke screen comment. That means that the Bengals would love to draft him & love to have him part of their team.

Yeah what does a DC know about football. The NFL is for dummies, it's not like being physically fit in all aspects is important in the NFL or for that matter important to your draft stock. Only making it to the playoffs two years in a row is garbage.

What's the deal???
Does anyone think that just cause TM7 only benched 4 times that that's his life's limit?
He gets on a weight program and those reps will go as high as needed for strength in the NFL.
I guess some people think that nobody lifts weights once they go pro???

You keep repeating this crap in every thread. Bench press doesn't equal physical fitness.
The only concern on doing so few reps is that he wasn't working hard. Which is exaclty what the coach said, he never commented on Mathieu's physical fitness.
Also Mathieu proved today that he has been training and working and that he is in fact physically fit.

Wasn't he one of the Bengals personnel that didn't want Marvin Lewis to bring on Vontaze Burfict as well, even as an UDFA?
Yeah, his intelligence is really there. Maybe ole Marvin told him to sandbag Mathieu so he could draft him

Cincy likes LSU players. Andrew Whitworth, Nate Livings , Skyler Green and SEC DBs Dre Kirkpatrick. TM7 hates Dre K so much that may be a reason for Zimmer to worry. Would love to see him or Eric Reid in the Nati.
