A buddy told me about a good hamburger place that is around the courthouse but I am thinking seafood. What do y'all recommend?

Seafood Palace has good casual seafood. Mazen's does a good job with fish in a nicer atmosphere.

Luna Grill on Ryan St is near the courthouse.

this and darrell's darrell. I also really like steamboat bills on the lake for good seafood. la truffe sauvage is good for fine dining. Enjoy Lake Chuck, I always do.

Steamboat Bill's for fried seafood or crawfish.

Tony's is always solid for a meatball poboy or some pizza.

Don't forget about Pronia's. Good muffalettas and other italian food.

Darrell's. That is all.
Nicer places La Truffe Sauvage and Mazen's.
Steamboat Bill's for boiled crawfish.

Lake Charles isn't as lacking as some people try to make it sound:
Darrell's: Great sandwich (the shrimp po boy ain't bad)
Seafood: I like Steamboat Bill's for laid-back, down-home stuff. Some like Seafood Palace. I'm not that big a fan.
Pronia's: A good muffaletta, although I haven't eaten there in a LONG time.
Mazens is really good. Haven't tried La Truffe Sauvage so I have no comment.
For a place that catches grief, the core local places -- Darrell's for sandwiches, Pronia for muff's, Mazen's for casual/fine dining and steamboat Bill's for seafood market/inexpensive, very casual in-house dining -- are all pretty legit. Good boudin down that way too. More ricey than the Lafayette boudin, so it comes down to preference in that regard. I kind of like it a little ricey because, frankly, the quality of the meat in the boudin is usually a little suspect, so I'd just as soon it come with a bit more rice.

Daryl's is good from personal experience. I would also recommend Steamboat Bill's if you're looking for seafood.

Pat's of Henderson has a damn good broiled seafood stuffed red snapper.

I have been to Pat's, it is good. I just wanted something different and don't know much about the Lake Chuck metro area.

Personally, not a huge fan, though I like the folks. Usually a long wait because I think they have a tiny kitchen or something. Food always takes forever. And it's OK. Not great. Just OK.
Used to go there often because when I was in LC, I'd work downtown. Would often work out at the gym on the corner near Luna's (GiGi's, or something like that).
Good gym, if you like places where you can do serious lifting, then go upstairs and take a spin class for your cardio. Loved that place. Gigis as a gym>Luna's as a restaurant.

Yeah, if you're looking to drop $235 on dinner.
No thanks.
