Former home of best boiled crawfish in Greater BTR area.
Apparently shut down three weeks ago.
Update. The person who answered the phone failed to tell us that the restaurant is under new ownership. Just simply said Gulf Net is no longer in business.

They didn't shut down, they were bought out by probably the best cook in Ascension Parish, Tee Wayne Abshire. If anything, it will be much better than before. Hopefully they aren't selling shrimp poboys for $10.00 anymore.

What do you think a "fair price" for a shrimp po-boy is?

The place is open for business. I just passed by there. It's packed. There's no sign yet so I don't know the name. They did have a big sing by the road saying hot boiled crawfish tonight.

The writing has been on the wall for those people for a long while now. Every time I have been in there in the past couple years I was the only person in there.

Used to work with Tee Wayne. Been hoping he would open a store front sometime, but knew he loved his catering and contests a lot. The AP is in for a treat.

Interesting. I would like to see what changes will be made.

T Wayne's will make you forget about Gulf Net in a short amount of time. The guy knows his stuff and will provide a product of the highest quality that will not let you down. I have cooked with and against him in competition and can only say that he is one of the best, if not the best cook in this area. In my opinion, new ownership is an upgrade for this place.

How is Chef KD's?
Very solid especially for the money. Nothing fancy but it is a good spot for lunch.
Think I paid $7.95 for the fried catfish plate.

Tee Wayne's new place will be the same if not better...
Kingbob, you all about some Chef KD... Is it really that good? I can't see myself eating at a place that I've never anyone at, ever...
