Richard Sherman not impressed with Roddy White, says he's product of his system

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman made some waves this week when he said on ESPN that Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was an "easy matchup."
Sherman didn't back off his comments about White when he sat down with Around The League on Friday.
"His strengths are in their system, within their system," Sherman said on the "ATL Debate Club" podcast. "His strengths aren't his own.
"Julio Jones' strengths are his own. Julio Jones is a dynamic playmaker. It doesn't matter what scheme he's playing in, he's going to play well. If he's out wide, if he's in the slot, he's going to present problems. Roddy can present problems for certain people, but he's a product."

Stupid. I hate the guy but White is a beast

He's a pretty average receiver. I agree that he only has the numbers because of the system he's in.

Sherman sounds like Gil Brandt.

Assuming he is a product of the system, isn't that what you want as a coach? If I'm a coach, I want my player to excel in my system. If the player can do that, then I have a better chance of winning football games.
These "he is a product of the system" arguments are always stupid to me.

He was on NFLN the other day talking about this as well. Saying how 1v1 on the outside Roddy can't do anything, so the Falcons drifted him in closer to the line so Corners couldn't come up and press coverage him.

Is "the system" what caused Sherman to be on his arse after getting burned by Roddy?

If a guy is a product of a system, and he thrives, who cares???
That is like a small rb, putting up big numbers on a spread team. Of course, it;s because of the system, and that is why he's in that system. He fits it.
So draft a square peg, to put into a round hole???
Seattle Db's need to be a little more humble.

nothing wrong with what he said there. But his theory about being a product of a system is fricking retarded.
I mean there have been games where Julio hasn't been a factor believe it or not.
it will be interesting to see how their passing game flows without Tony G now. But it seems like the door isn't totally shut on him coming back either just yet.

The only player who has really ever fit into this category for me was Colt Brennan. System being throwing every play and doing so against some of the worst secondaries in the country. He has not done anything since Georgia violated him in the Sugar Bowl.

Just because Colt Brennan sucked against George doesn't mean the reason why is because he was a product of the system.
Rather, one could argue that Colt Brennan got lit up against Georgia because of the difference in talent on both teams, not the system itself.

He didn't want to out his team mate, but he said there was a blown coverage and he wasn't going to point any fingers.

Sherman can be annoying if he's dogging your team and talking shite but the guy is pretty intelligent and definitely backs up the smack with his play. He's everything you want in a DB.

Sure did have a ton of Saints fans standing in line at the NFL Experience waiting to take a picture with him.

Looks like Matty Ice is going to have to torch him again.
Cant blame Sherman for being able to stop a few pinpoint perfect passes that only the WR can catch.
