Tommie Frazier is a good one, no doubt. But this question begins and ends with Tim Tebow. I cannot convey how hard that is to type that out, knowing where my allegiances lie. But he is undoubtedly the best QB in College Football in recent memory. I remember watching Tommie Frazier, Vince Young, etc. play and none of them had the ability to single-handedly take over a football game on a consistent basis for a career the way Tebow did. Out of shear will, he made his team better just because he was on it.

that's kind of BS
i mean look at vince's 2 BCS games
the main difference is rushing TDs, and vince just wasn't used as the goaline masher like tebow/cam
in 2005, UT had a guy who starts at DE in the NFL playing RB

surprising lack of love for Leinart in this piece. over multiple seasons I think he was the best I saw. or maybe neck and neck with Peyton in that regard.

I understand. To each his own, but I guess we could chalk it up to being jaded by the SEC. I just know that the quality of defenses that Tebow did his damages against where far superior to those that VY did his damage against on a week in, week out basis.
Add to the fact that Tebow got more out of his deficiencies than anyone else I have seen as well. As we all know he will never be confused with anyone that is a GREAT passer from the pocket, but he was still throwing guys open every other play.
He is also possibly the most decorated player to ever play the game as well...

This board has really gone downhill, this thread is great example of the decline.

In no certain order:
Vince Young
Tim Tebow
Cam Newton
M. Vick
Peyton Manning
Matt Leinhart
Danny Wuerffel (Most of the credit goes to Spurrie's offense)

There's a guy named Vince Young who might have something to say about that. Hell, there's actually a Heisman winner in that division in the last 20 years. I'd probably put Bradford ahead of Bishop.

Ken Dorsey.
Wasn't he 33-1 as a starter?
Off the top he lost to Ohio State and Washington so no.

Hasn't done much in the NFL, but Sam Bradford needs to be in the mix.

Whether it does or not, he is the best Spurrier QB ever and probably deserves to be over Manning as far as college careers go. He had 114 career passing TD's (the SEC record), a Heisman, a NC and 4 SEC titles.

Brad Smith @ Missouri has to be in the discussion

First player in division 1-A history to pass for 2,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in a season twice in a career.
Second player in division 1-A history to rush for 1,000 yards and pass for 2,000 yards in a season.
Fourth player in division 1-A history to score 200 points and pass for 200 points in a career.
Sixth player in division 1-A history to pass for 200 yards and rush for 200 yards in a single game (vs. Nebraska on October 22, 2005).

You take Bishop off that K State team they're nowhere close to what they were. I think Young was a good QB but had better guys around him to make plays.
