Reminds me of a Sheddrick Wilson type receiver, might not outrun everyone on the field but has deceptive speed and has very good hands...possesion receiver.

Filler offer. Offer list says it all.
Of course he is. We prob don't get Leslie(didn't get Gardner), I'm seeing Diarse as a safety so we have no WRs in this class except AJ(should have been here last year)

I believe his hands are a check. 3 year basketball player. 6'2" 190 so he has the size. I think he is a possession receiver and could be polished into a big time player. If he did that with just one year of football then his ceiling is definitely high.

he is also a pretty natural route runner. he found himself open a lot across the middle, and that can usually be attributed to precise routes, and clean cuts.
no one is saying he is going to step in and be Julio Jones, but its pretty clear from his film that he has the tools to be successful at the D1 level, and our coaches obviously feel the same way

i agree with this statement. I see him more benny logan in replace of tim jernigan than i do arman williams.
This kid has good leaping ability and hands. caught several passes with one hand. has to be a decent athlete with good hands if he played basketball. the only thing i question is speed. I'm not sure how important speed is for big wr's. Rarely have is seen them blaze. R.R., t. toliver, lafel, clayton, were not speed guys. however, they got open. at this point, we just need some wr's that will catch the ball when they have the chance to.

we need a tall WR and our coaches are getting desperate now.
National championships are won without tall WRs (Bama last year, for example). Our staff is not desperate for a tall WR.

Because our coaches offered him a scholarship!

Huge upside could be 210-220 on his frame easily. Excellant jumping ability and plays the ball very well in the air. Good body control certainly worth a take in my mind.

would be more like "he never had an offer to begin with"

The one saving grace here is he has only played one year of football.
I would pass on him. He is not very fluid in his cuts or in the open field and doesn't show tremendous speed. Average size, but does seem very natural catching the ball.
If he is the best we can field at WR, then we will be in trouble down the road. LSU is an elite program and I don't see him being that caliber.
This.

What's to say he doesn't stay committed to LaTech?

C'mon now. If you were dating an OT 4 and an OT 9 approached you and told you that she wanted to date you, you would leave the OT 4. Don't lie.

Hopefully, Kevin will develop if the Tigers sign him.
Maybe this belongs on a different thread, but should either or both Willis and Goodman commit, will LSU have room for Spears?

Yeah but the OT 9 has WR's on twitter essentially saying they regret coming to LSU.
The OT4 can have 4 or 5 WR's involved at the same time. The OT4 also offers a starting job right at the game
If Tech can get Spears in contact with Paul Turner, I think that would be huge.

lol, Spears can go to Tech if he doesn't make it at LSU, just like Turner is doing.

Man you are reaching.
Diarse has never played a down in college.
OBJ will be a teams 3rd reciever in NFL.
Jarvis remains to be seen. Probably a #2 reciever.
Neither are as good as Ruben Randle and he is a #2. We don't have a reciever currently that has the speed to seperate from #1 CB's or the size/skill to consistantly win battles with #1 CB's.
I think OBJ and Jarvis are Great college WR's but they would not be #1 recievers on many major college teams.

Man, I think your assessment is spot on. That's exactly how I would rate those guys. What I'm saying is that if every unit on our team was as good as our WRs we could clear a space for the BCS trophy. Go back to our most recent championship and tell me that all 22 starters were good enough to be first or second string in the NFL!
