Euro mounts, are they worth it?

I really like those Euro mounts that are dipped in camo paint. But I have a few questions: Does a mount like that hold up? Do the bones eventually fall apart and does the paint stay on?
Anyone here have good or bad experience with em?

I have several skull mounts at home. Nothing painted. the best looking ones were done by Taxidermist who sent them off to be cleaned by beetles. My oldest is probably 10 years old that I boiled at home and , knock on wood, no problems yet.

I don't know much about the camo dipped but traditional euros hold up very well. They can start to yellow over time so its not a good idea to have them in an area that gets direct sunlight.
The issue with alot of euro mounts is they end up making there way into the shop or garage allowing the weather to get to them and speed up the aging process.

I've done both a true European mount with the actual preserved skull and have also used the fiberglass molds which you drop the rack into and use sculpting putty to blend the seams. I prefer the fiberglass molds, they look very lifelike and are far more durable plus easier to clean.
As for the camo dip, I'm not a fan but to each their own.

Exactly the type of information I was looking for. So a pro that did not use beetles would be a deal breaker, huh??

i love european mounts, but this is the first time i have heard of camo dipping them. after a quick google search, i think they look like shite

The yellowing mostly comes from fat within the bone rising to the surface. This can be all but eliminated if time is taken to properly degrease them. A little time consuming but pretty easy and cheap.

Yeah if I'm paying they gotta use the beetles. I can boil and scrape my own but it's worth the money to me to not have to mess with it. My taxidermist charges right around $100 and mounts on driftwood with an engraved tag.

A friend of mine is having a deer he shot this year camo dipped, I am not a fan of camo skulls.
Theres a guy on LASportsman that does the mounts for like $50 I think his name is Bucktail.

Euros look awesome and hold up great. A dab of super glue on any loose bones works wonders.
These two were done for about $70 each. They aren't hard to do, but I'd you don't have the time to mess with them, its cheap to get them done. I'm about to go drop of two deer right now.

I like those camo mounts. I got a hog head that would look cool done like that.

I've got several myself. I actually like them better than the shoulder mounts. Guy uses peroxide i think. But I have some pushing 15 years and they still look great.

I have a few, if you do get one its bettles or nothing. They bettles do it better than any other mount I have seen.
I also heard you can put the skull in an giant ant pile for a week or two. Then bleach.
