If you joined during season no need to reply, but many who were here before know what I mean.
This offseason we had thread on thread about LSU players going pro and it was a good thing then but now a bad one?
We discussed Ford, Ware, Mingo, Montogomery, Logan, Faulk, Reid, and knew TM7 wasn't coming back. We also said depending on their year a few more could go and that Wing would because he hated school. Well guess what it happened and now the board is in a meltdown mode.

Are there a few surprises yeah but still we talked about 6-8 players leaving prior to season so shouldn't this be a good thing?

The real question might be this....Is it a bad thing that these guys are at LSU and are actually being drafted?

I sort of like having players that are good enough to be selected to play at the next level.

I dont know what the complaints about ford and ware are...Les proved he was phasing them out of the offense. Chris Faulk,,,,why come back to get hurt. same for the other folks. I think it clears up some positions and allows les to concentrate on a corp of players vice trying to play everybody,,thus messing up the flow of the offense...

Because people on this board will use anything to claim a big conspiracy just to hate on Les Miles.

I think it's just the same group of people finding something to bitch about. None of the people leaving surprised me except for Faulk. But even Faulk's reason makes more sense to me now. When Miles visited him to discuss possible early entry, Faulk kept bringing up how this could turn into another Ciron Black situation. Black's knees got so badly damaged that he was no longer draftable by the end of his senior year.

Only time will tell if its a "good thing". It's good from a recruiting perspective because the coaches can sell the NFL pipeline to recruits. But it will hurt this season losing so many big time contributors, with many unproven guys stepping into starting roles (espically on the D line).

I personally think many of the guys leaving didn't play to their full potential this season because they already made up their mind to enter the draft before the season started, except Minter and Logan. Those two played their way into the draft and should go after such stellar years.

The only real surprise is that all of the NFL caliber juniors left.

I was hoping at least one or two would stay. But I wish them all luck.

As to the crazy posting: the Rant is gonna rant. They mad.

I think it's because the team lost three games. The fans think the players owe them a better season before moving on. I wish them well.

The thing that gets overlooked is 6 of the guys leaving early are 4 year guys. Faulk, Ford, Logan, Mingo, Minter and Montgomery all red shirted as freshman. That are leaving early in the sense that they could play another year, but 5 years is not the norm. This is why I'm pretty much against red shirting. Except for QB's and maybe some OL, its a waste. Let them play.

The one guy that wasn't really discussed was Minter and he had a monster season, plus he's already graduated. He is not going to raise his draft stock (ask Matt Barkley about that).

Its because peoole are upset about the clemson loss. They want to use anything to prove that miles is s horrible coach. They've been looking for shite to throw at the wall since 05.

Good post but the mass exodus of over the expected 3-5 players at most is alarming no matter how you skin the cat (10 total plus 3-6 others transferring). Our roster looks depleted and thin. This is not normal and something is up, players have enough of LM's shitty game day antics.
