Falcons fans, how different would history be if they hadn't traded Schaub?

Even after growing up and living in Georgia for 25 years, I've never been a falcons fan. Just never cared for them really. I've VERY casually kept up with them being the home team but haven't closely followed them.

So my question is basically the same as the thread title. If Schaub had been here for the long haul and took over right after Vick left, how do you think things would be different? Better, worse? Ryan certainly hasn't been bad, but hasn't been GREAT either. Of course, you can say the same thing about Schaub. So what do yall think?

Well that sure didnt' last long. Look sainttards, it's not like I said "if ATL had schaub they'd be 3 time super bowl champs!!!!" It was a simple question I asked of atlanta fans. This has nothing to do with disrespecting or belittling NO in any way. Take it down a notch.

This is why we want an off topic board WG.

Anyway, Ryan is better so I'm glad we have him.

I think Ryan is better too. And Atlanta got a draft pick for Schaub too.

So trading him was the right move.

But still....seriously....frick the Falcons

Yeah, I mean I get that. But then what..a chiefs board for the mizzou fans? A bucs board for the UF fans? Titans board? Etc etc.

Ryan is at least as good as Schaub if not better and they only had 1 year of suck between the dogfighting scandal and Ryan.

The difference would be that they would have won more than 4 games in 2007 with having Schaub instead of Leftwich, Redman, and whoever else.

They would not have had the 3rd pick in the draft. They probably would have had a similar record to the Saints at 7-9 and thus picked in the 9-13 range and instead of drafting a QB, would have likely drafted Keith Rivers or Jerrod Mayo.

Who knows how things would have panned out from there.

Y'all aren't quite going down the road I was intending. This isn't a "who's better, schaub or ryan" debate. I'm asking how the falcons franchise would be different. Would they have had the same amount of success or more? More or less playoff wins? Better, same, or worse outlook for the future? Etc.

Don't really care for a Falcons board as that would be dead as shite but an off topic board or even posting it on our board would get a more intelligent discussion.

Well...Ryan is better. So I guess they would have less success if they kept Schaub

You clearly don't have a clue what me and him are talking about.

Btw, why are you SO defensive? Like I said I'm not even a falcons fan, and I certainly didnt' say anything negative (or anything at all, actually) about the saints. I know if you asked on the SECR something like "who does UGA have leaving early this year?" I wouldn't say "frick lsu, they suck".

I don't think things would be much different. Similar guys in terms of strengths and weaknesses.

The thing I often wonder is how different this team would look had Vick not fought dogs.
