Less alcohol, more Xanax

One of my friends adds some of that mio stuff to her vodka and water
When I didn't have a mixer I'd take some water and add a Hawaiian punch packet that my wife keeps for flavoring her water and then add the vodka. those packets only have like 10 calories in them. It worked pretty good in a pinch.

Red wines of your liking, in moderation, are good for you and your heart.
Macallan 21 yr old scotch is great for my heart!
Titos vodka doesn't have that taste you don't like. I know. Asked for a vodka that didn't taste like vodka and my guy sold me on Titos a few years back. Great with tonic and a squeeze of lime, for the health and all. Keeps scurvy at bay.

Avoid imperial stouts.
I've always heard red wine is a pretty healthy option.

Haha, I always pack on a few pounds in the winter between holiday food and drinking higher gravity beer because it's cold. Imperial stouts and barleywines are just so good when it's cold.

What about a Bloody Mary? Tomato juice has less sugar and fewer calories than the previously suggested OJ drinks. Not to mention there is practically a salad added to the drink!

I have just started working out again and eating a low carb diet. If you are watching calories but you want a higher effect, skip the beer and go for the hard liquour. Try and just use ice and save yourself the calories because most mixers are loaded.
Since I am doing low carb, I am limiting my alcohol intake to strictly liquor. I am also attempting to limit the amount so that I am not having to deal with too much of a caloric increase. Wine is the big lie in terms of dieting. Yes, it does have less calories than beer or liquor but you are looking at 5 - 8 grams of carbs per serving. If you are shooting for a true low carb diet, than you are trying to stay under 25 or 30 grams a day. One glass of wine will give you a quarter of your daily allowance.
I try and keep it simple because nothing is worse than dieting sober.

Swing and a miss. Juice squeezed out of a fresh lime is not the same as processed OJ or cranberry juice. There are boatloads of sugars in the latter, where as fresh squeezed with nothing added isn't bad for you.

Any alcohol is going to cause you to retain water.. If you want to lose the water retension and detox your liver, mix 1/8 teaspoon of Turmeric (spice used in middle eastern and indian food) into a bit of warm water and drink it like a shot. Once a day is fine and the taste isn't bad.
