The LSU / Les Miles TV dramedy continues....

For a few years GG has been a total idiot for criticizing Miles in any fashion.
Several other media members have joined in (local & national) & they're crushed as idiots by the Miles gestapo.
All the while, more & more traditional Miles loyalists are stating that they can't defend him any more. Say what you want, but overall confidence in the program is declining (at a rate unique to each individual) although the signs have been there for years.
The blind Miles supporters are ferociously digging in their heels. That part is interesting and amusing if nothing else. (They're reminiscent of blind Obama supporters although I can atleast rationalize their actions b/c they're getting free stuff or think they are.)
It's almost like watching a TV drama/comedy. I've gone from being way too passionate about the situation to much more blase (I really have tried to fight this). Although I have my opinions and get frustrated, I have accepted the fact that nothing I do will change much. The pure entertainment factor of LSU football is not what it once was for me & I've been watching games since ~1980.
As someone said yesterday, I believe....it seems like the reaction to the games & discussion of coaching issues has become more prevalent for some than watching the game itself. Perhaps it's b/c many games are simply not that entertaining...IDK.
I do work & associate with CFB fans all over the country. The continuing Les Miles dramedy is continually a source of entertainment for them.
State of affairs here @ Duke & Duke.

Consistently recruit in the top 10, compete for the west and SEC almost every year, yep declining!!

As for GG, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

Most of the drama happens here. This site is over run with sports drama queens.

man, you're all-in with the 'trading places' theme.
pump the brakes. we lost three games to ranked teams by a total of 13 points, all the while playing the 3rd most freshmen/underclassmen in division 1. it was a good year.
if winning 10+ games with our schedule and competing for the national title in so many recent seasons isn't good enough, you need to find another hobby.
just because the offense wasn't spectacular doesn't mean that we need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

To all those that think LSU is a notch below eltite, please name what you consider elite programs.
I have asked this in other threads throughout the season and I am yet to get anyone to name those programs.

I have supported him all along (except for the week after losing to Arkansas in 2007 before beating Tennessee in the SEC Title Game). However, after the game last weekend, I believe that Les must hand over ALL offensive play calling to an offensive coordinator. It can be his offensive system, but he should not be the final decider for the offense. He can keep everything else, but he should no longer be calling the plays. 3 passes in a row when you are trying to run out the clock is criminal. They would have been better off kneeing the ball 3 times and punting to force Clemson to use up their timeouts.

I'm pissed----I supported Obama and didn't get one damn thing free!

I don't think I've ever seen someone trip over Godwin's Law as early as the 2nd sentence of the original post before. Congrats.

Needs a top notch OC and he needs to act as program manager and recruiter, otherwise, he is the best guy for LSU.

Still waiting.... who is GG? Is he so famous that everyone knows him by his initials? I know it's not Greg Gumbel.

Why is it always, you're a Miles-supporter or a Miles-hater. What's wrong with supporting the program and everyone associated with it. If Les Miles quit today, I would be worried, because I don't see a clear suitable replacement. I think his recruiting ability is better than anyone's I've seen. His gameday decisions can be questioned, but I watched both coaches in the SECCG do the same shite. That said, if he wasn't our coach, I won't be crying. My loyalty is to LSU, not a specific player or coach.
I just never understand why when someone defends the program, they are called a sunshine-pumper, Miles-lover. I love LSU football. The reason it's not as enjoyable now as it was 20 years ago is becasue we are winning. Trying to win championships is stressful at any level and in any sport. The stress goes away when you know you just need 6 wins to get to a bowl. Aanything over that is lagniape. I prefer the stress personally becasue it results in championships every now and then.
The program is fine. If you want to feel better about the state of affairs regarding the future of LSU football, hop over to the recruiting board and look at the class the is coming and the potential class for 2014. Both a sick.
I think this is completely accurate for those that want Miles gone. They are on here downplaying wins, and out in full force after losses. The worst part is, that players and recruits actually read this and all of it just hurts the program, maybe even more than the bad coaching calls.

Well said.
It is what it is, we're led by an average head coach. We just have to get used to watching horrible play calling and stupid stupid in-game decisions.
The thing is we'll win 9/10 games every year (the talent is just amazing) so Les will keep his job.
This is going to be a long wait till he retires. Till then, I'll continue to support the hard working players and root for LSU and just 'hope' that Les goes to the NFL/retires or goes to Michigan.
