Hypothetical Scenario: Vasquez and Lopez for ??

The way these two have been playing recently. Do you think we could package them and possibly a first round pick for a major player.

Forgot where I saw this at but I was reading Lopez, Vazquez, and our 2013 1st pick for cousins and brooks
It'd be like drafting cousins but I doubt the kings would take it or if we even want cousins

You will not get anything for Vasquez; the guy is absolutely horrible on defense. I would not trade Lopez at this time.

I don't understand why 95% of the trade scenarios on here involves the only center on the roster, who is actually exceeding expectations, and is on a very reasonable contract.

Because Lopez can't rebound. I don't think they need to move him- he's got a very good contract- but I can see why some might want to. If they do move him, IMO it will be because they draft a 5 in the lottery

I agree his rebounding has been lacking, but considering his contract, that's no reason to move him. If we do draft a 5, I would still keep Lopez as a back up/veteran presence since we have so little of either.

Lopez has averaged 23 and 7 over last four games. He averaged 6 and 5 in the five games before that. Sell at all an all-time high!!
His poor P&R defense & rebounding will never improve. On nights when he scores, people overlook these 2 things, but they are there

Yeah, lets trade two of our only solid players. Brilliant. For a first? I doubt anyone gives up a lottery pick, and lower picks are just trade filler.

His problems outweigh his talent right now IMHO, which means he sure isn't worth our 2013 1st even without Lopez and Vasquez to make the salaries match.
I'd rather hold onto a lottery ticket and chance getting a 3 like Shabazz Muhammed or another big without the attitude problem like Cody Zeller then take on a reclamation project like Cousins.

If we can get away with a 2nd this year and a 2015 1st for Cousins cool, see what we can do with him, but i'm still hoping for a package including this year's 1st for Brandon Jennings and Larry Sanders.

He also averaged 31.25 minutes per game over the last 4 games, and 20.4 minutes per game the previous 5 games. Skewed stats are skewed.
I don't think he is the long term solution at center, but like I said earlier, why trade a valuable piece at such a thin position? If a team wants to overpay for him, then go for it, but I don't think we should be dangling him out there.
Vasquez, Lopez, and 1st for Brooks and Cousins would be a terrible trade for us. We wouldn't get any better at PG, we would be giving up a potentially top 5 pick (Noels, Zeller or Mohammed), and a productive center on a good contract, for a physically gifted, and mentally challenged center. No thanks.
I think the best thing for this team (especially GV) is to see how everyone plays with Gordon back before we start exploring trades. I truly believe Gordon will play well with GV, and make him look a lot better.

This is not what we need and this is certainly not what the Bucks need. Why would they give up 2 of their 4 players worth a damn for an unknown. More importantly, I don't want Brandon Jennings. He puts up numbers because he shoots 17 times a game but can barely eclipse 40% shooting (once in 4 years and that was 41.8%.) Not a guy that will take this team anywhere, IMO.

HT thought process
Player has a few good games...TRADE HIM

Yeah, unless we are flipping him for something amazing (and why would a team trade something amazing for him), why trade one of the only competent players we have?
I'm in the thought process of trying to trade off scrubs like Aminu, Henry, etc for whatever you can get (he traded Juju for Beli, who is at least a serviceable player), while keeping the few competent players we have.
The long term approach, this is going to take several years. Let's let our rookies get better and build upon the few competent players we have. If we know that we aren't going extend Vasquez for instance after next year, then of course you move him. But there's no reason to move Lopez right now. Especially when Davis is about 40 pounds away from playing Center.

not only that, but he has a VERY cap friendly contract...3 years at under 16 million for a center putting up decent numbers...hard to beat, especially if you look at what Mek was getting paid

It's not just a good value contract, it's a flexible contract. If Demps wants to sign a really big fish like CP3 then Lopez basically comes off the books. They shouldn't trade him for a lateral move like Bledsoe, only to land someone bigger like Jennings or Cousins, if Monty and Dell think they can handle that dumpster fire.

A healthy right knee for Gordon.
