A friend of mine from out of town is in Metairie for work today. Does anybody have a good suggestion where I could take him out for a quick lunch? Type of food doesn't matter as he's pretty open but preferably not a chain. Thanks!

I think he's around Causeway and Vets but if its worth it he probably won't mind driving a little bit.

I have a friend that eats there at least three times a week. He'll go by himself if need be.

Acme
I don't get the draw to this place. Their fried seafood is below par, the oysters are often tiny and shrivel to nothing, and their charbroiled oyster are light years behind dragos.

Never been there. Is it that scary of a place that you have to bring somebody with you?

Nah, it's not scary at all. Parking can be a bit of a pain in the arse, though.

Thanks for the suggestions. I know he's been to acme before so we'll try crazy johnnies. I've never been myself so ill get to discover it too. The filet poboy sounds delicious, anything else there that's a must have?

Hope you like garlic. A dipping bread would be good to split.

This. It is a little bowl of the BBQ sauce and french bread. Great stuff for the price.
Gumbo is suprisingly good.

It's actually the ONLY place I've ever seen that.
