Will open at Oakwood (westbank). I've heard of them but don't know too much. The food on their website doesn't look all that great.
Unless they are the Golden Corral of Italian dining I think they made a horrible real estate choice.

The locations I've been at were an absolute fricking circus. It's loud, both visually and also with the music they play. I guarantee that if you spend an hour in the place you're going to be sick of Dean Martin. Every time I've been to one I couldn't wait to leave, but I may be in the minority because the place was always packed, and when we'd hit the town in groups, someone would always pick this place in their rotation.
It's mostly family portioned food, meaning large plates meant to be shared.
Did I mention that you're going to be sick of Dean Martin?

It try's to be like a maggionos if you've ever been there but it misses
It's basic family style Italian food that's good for parties or large groups. Save you money.

Spot on review. It's famiy size portions and they pump in the Italian music.
It's your typical Italian chain restaurant

I've been there twice several years ago. It wasn't bad but I'd rather eat at a local place

Being descended from hearty Cantania stock I would think a typical Italian chain would be off limits to a ....man like you. Is the tomato sauce too thick for your refined Sicilian taste?

Actually it was the opposite. Too watery.

I went to one in San Diego, and it was neither here nor there. We sat at a table with a bust of the pope in the middle. That was a little strange but...I think they will do well in Oakwood. The demographics there will fit in well for what they are doing.

They have a booth in the kitchen that you can reserve. They show you each plate before it goes to a table. The waiters even let you grab a calamari or two, etc from the plate before it leaves the kitchen. It's fun until the next visit and you don't sit in the kitchen.

Middle of the road, nothing special. Not really all that different than OG.

Apparently the jimmileg likes chain Italian compared to Olive Garden in this thread yet calls out everyone about Italian in the other thread.

i kinda like it... i enjoy the family thing, their cheap house chianti in the wicker basket bottom, but what do i know, my great, great grandparents just passed through Sicily Island, not Ellis Island..

sarcasm- the use of irony to mock or convey contempt.
the sicily island thing didn't give you a clue? jimi, how young are you?

I really don't think he has a clue. His responses in this and the other thread are almost like he's a water head or something. Makes absolutely no sense.
