I love how the claim was "I would never have frozen chicken in my house"...as if the chicken you buy in the market has never been frozen.
I think he meant bagged chicken vs. regular chicken.
Bagged chicken has all the fillers and shite in it right? like 20 percent chicken broth injected or whatever

where do you get that out of this ?:

Frozen chicken, Italian dressing.. These things aren't allowed in my kitchen. Glad everyone enjoyed it though. Definitely not "grilled" by any stretch of the imagination. Also, where's the ketchup?!

I didn't bother wasting my time going back and quoting. I knew you would.

yeah .. i saw nothing about bagged chicken .. also, i missed his poke at ketchup too .. this coming from a guy cooking with wal mart's made in china finest ..

Well that would be my argument.
I've never cooked with bagged chicken.
Frozen chicken is bagged chicken. The chicken you get in the freezer section with french fries and chicken nuggets.
I don't slaughter my own chicken but frozen/bag chicken is

Only chicken not in a bag is the chicken in the case and unless it's free range organic it is no different. They all are injected, bagged or not.

what is the difference between the flash frozen chicken, and the chicken you buy in the meat department? other than one is flash frozen, and the other is not.
please explain to me

If you've never made a gumbo, Paul Prudhommes recipe is pretty damn good and relatively easy.Making roux seems to be the intimidating step for first timers so I'm gonna duck when I say this, but to cut down on that step, just buy a jar of roux. As your gumbos get easier then you can work on making your own roux.
Carsons chicken looked pretty tasty, a nice dish for a football tailgate.

Isn't there more sodium injected into the frozen ones?
ETA: Looking at Wal Mart's products, the GV bagged chicken has 370 mg of sodium vs. 140 mg of sodium of the regular chicken you'd buy in the poultry section

I think I am going to try Carson's Uppity BArn Yard pimp this evening and report back on my experience.

We're gonna need pics for proof.

FWIW, I always enjoy recipe threads with pics, doesn't matter how simple/complex the dish is.
There is no telling what ideas/techniques people will come away with.
For example, this thread reminded me I need to make a vinaigrette dressing when I get home and that the next time I make my hot dog/macaroni cheese casserole, I am documenting the process

Damn! Just caught up in the thread.
Rag, thanks! Sorry I jumped to conclusions. With all of the previous comments, I assumed you were just adding on. Thanks for your words in this thread.
I do agree that R2R is a good poster, I was just kinda taken aback by his comment.
Martini, I've been searching for homemade dressings and the like after Alma recommended me to do so. I will check yours out for sure.
