what is the basis for this belief that ND is no good? A close win vs Pitt? They've played a much tougher schedule than Bama. Their best 2 wins, OU and Stanford are just as good as Bama's over LSU and UGA and it's not like Bama dominated those teams. What is it that makes everyone think ND will get crushed? I can't think of anything but SEC brand.

I just don't think that OU and Stanford would play Bama that close

0% chance Pitt would play Bama close

ND beat OU 30-13. I suspect you only say that about Stanford because of the name. Did you think A&M would beat them in BDS?

and so what about Pitt? Why do people still put so much emphasis on the transitive property and 1 game? They played a stinker but won. That doesn't define their season. Bama hasn't blown anyone with a pulse out. I see no difference here. If they win, it will be close.

It's silly getting caught up in it.

Two teams will play and neither who you pull for will influence the outcome

And if you watched the game you knew that the teams were pretty evenly matched and things got out of hand in the final few minutes

I thought they had a good chance because they get out to quick starts on pretty much everyone

I don't, hence why I also mentioned Stanford, who isn't particularly impressive this year compared to last year.

I see no reason to watch. ND has zero chance.

Yeah

I guess one might be inclined to watch the first half just to see how bad it gets

Therefore I prefer LSU have more in common with Notre Dame with some ethic, spirit, and soul as opposed to the philistine Alabama.

Me too. I'm opposed to winning NCs in bunches. It cheapens the effect and de-emphasizes the academic side of campus life.

LSU needs to maintain its rep for elite academics and de emphasize the "win all the time and at all costs" kind of attitude.

I just don't get why people think Bama is such a juggernaut. Bama has struggled with every team that has a pulse - LSU, Georgia, and A&M. And each of those teams is flawed. I think ND can sneak up on Bama, just like they have on everyone else this season.

Bama is going to have an awfully inflated sense of importance and ability to dominate from the media and fans, and that's not a good formula with this much time off.

No one has been right about ND this year, and it wouldn't surprise me if that trend continues.

Give Nick 4 weeks and you're done . I wouldn't be surprise if the score was 42 -14 in the end ..
