What are the "must try" things on the menu there? Appetizer? Salad? Soup? Entree? Dessert?

Lobster bisque. Filet or bone-in ribeye. Potatoes Au Gratin. Go to Fleming's for dessert. Chocolate Molten Lava Cake.

Live large, order a Porterhouse.

I'm partial to the veal chop, creamed spinach and sweet potatoes. Calamari is excellent for an app as is the tuna. Salads are all good. Creme brûlée or peppermint ice cream for dessert.

A bottle of Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel. It will go well with a piece of meat.

WTF is the deal with this steakhouse? There is a thread about it every damn week. Is it the only steakhouse where y'all live?
Off the top of my head I can name 20 steakhouses in Houston or Dallas better. It's good but its also a chain

Well Houston does have 10X the people than BR, BR has 2 true steakhouses, it would make sense for Houston to have 20
And what does being a chain have to do with anything? Give me a nice clean comfortable place to eat with great service and food, and I don't give a shite about or corporate structure.

Well Ruth's is a chain...but it's a chain started in Nola, so it's not really a chain to us.
And while there are Steakhouses here that are better, that doesn't make Ruth's bad...it is still good.
Also, sweet potato casserole FTW.

It became considered one of the finest steak houses in America a long time ago under the ownership of one woman who was urged to sell franchises. The ffod is consistently good regardless of location. Big D has one for you to try it out.

Lobster bisque.
Its very good. My preference is the turtle soup though. I consider it my second favorite behind Commanders Palace.

I go back and forth on which is better. Different but both very good.

Don't get me wrong. I've been and its very good. I was just curious why it was always on the board
Didn't know it started in Nola. Makes sense now, thanks for clarifying
