We may be a lot of things, but balanced we are not.

I know your run game sucks, but I meant more that you don't just rely on one guy. There's lots of weapons in that passing game.

They are definitely a threat to do something. They are just like the other elite teams in the league in that they have a chance to win the Super Bowl.

Ryan has been really good for the most part and his taken the next step in his development. Roddy, TG, and Julio are a three-headed monster. They are simply an air attack at this point, much like NO, GB, and a few other teams with top QB's. The defense can step up and make good play.

Will they win the Super Bowl? Probably not, since there are ten teams (if Ben is healthy) that are contenders, but I am sold on the Falcons being a very good team and one of the premier teams in the league. Hell, they win when they look good and when they look bad.

I'm not sold, but I don't think there's a legitimately great team in the NFL, so they have just as good of a chance as anybody.

This.

Post-season is gonna be fun this year.

Their Offense is soft, outside of Turner. That's why a team like NY and SF will dominate them just like GB and NY did the past couple years in the Playoffs. Also, home field is not that big of a factor in ATL.

They're good. They do seem kinda squishy though. Would not mind a matchup with them in January. I would be much more scared of the Giants or Packers.

They get a mulligan for the Thursday night slopfest but viewing them as a fan of another conference contender, unless they're firing on all cylinders, they are very beatable. ATL doesn't get to the SB without 2 great postseason performances IMO.

with the amount of mistakes the Saints made last night, the Falcons should have blown them out.

They didn't.

the last place defense everyone likes to make fun of (for the most part its justified) held Atlanta to 283 total yards.

Good luck if you have to play San Francisco

Not sold, but still listening to the sales pitch. I just don't see them getting that killer instinct yet...

I think they have the talent to do something, but I honestly am not sure if I trust the coaches. Smith gets all rilled up and makes some stupid calls sometimes. Couple that with the Offensive play calling last night. The first drive they GASHED the saints running the ball. From then on, they kept tryin to get the passing game going. It was sort of confusing.

That's been the pattern all season.

I know people like to point at their record, and yes, that's impressive, but in evaluating a team, it's deeper than just wins and losses. It's HOW you get to those wins and losses.

I look at the Carolina, Oakland, and Arizona games. Those are teams who the Falcons, if they were truly as good as their record indicates, should have completely obliterated.

They didn't, and if I were a Falcons fan, I'd be concerned after last night, even though it was a win.

They're a solid team, but I could just as easily see them dropping one to someone they shouldn't in the playoffs. They've come pretty close to doing that a few times.

Not sold on Ryan and definitly not on their run game

Defense impressed me.

NFC championship is their ceiling IMO dont see them winning more than one playoff game. Last night shouldve been a blow out

I missed the time the Falcons had two separate mediocre squads win Super Bowl titles. The Giants have had more luck than any team in professional sports this decade.

Ryan is an above avg QB he hasn't reached elite status but he has improved each year and Falcons continue to add playmakers around him.
With Ryan The Falcons will be a contender each year and challenge the Saints. People can point to playoffs all they want but all it takes is 1 run to wipe those comments away and Ryan is still young and good enough to lead the Falcons to a Super Bowl.

The Saints had 5 turnovers and screwed themselves out of scoring atleast a FG before halftime and they still almost beat the Falcons. That about sums it up

This is like the argument that A&M fans had for the reason they should have beat LSU... weak.

The Falcons aren't a great team but fortunately there are no great teams this years. They have as good a shot (better with a first round bye) as anyone else at winning the SB which is all you can really ask.

granted I am a Saints fan

but in the truest way I can I try and look at other teams honestly

I have not and cannot really see what others see in Matt Ryan. I don't feel he has the arm nor the mind to lead a team thru the jungle to get a Super Bowl Trophy.

I understand the stats and numbers are solid. But watching him and his eyes and his body language, he comes across as the guy who has everything needed except IT

good guy, seems like a really likeable person. But I would have zero belief if he was QB for my team that they were going anywhere.
