What are your thoughts on Ryan and the Falcons?

No clue. They look explosive at times then crawl into a shell at other times. They should have lost last night and have been banking on winning very close games the entire season.

Can look at that two ways, they will be ready for the playoffs when close games are a given, or they are extremely lucky. TBA.

Ryan, however, isn't an elite QB, IMO. He has elite WR and a great TE but he's too inconsistent. I figured he'd regress some after the torrid start. He's just not a Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Peyton type and I'd rather have Big Ben, Stafford, Luck, Eli, etc.

ATL D reminds of the Saints D their SB year.

Their offense has the potential to go off at any moment, but a physical team with a pass rush like SF or CHI will eat their lunch

Playing teams with a win percentage of 44% (lowest in the NFL) and winning 7 games by 7 or less points against those teams is worrisome. You can say its the NFL, all wins means something rah rah bullshite, but those numbers are telling.

Then by your logic Hawai'i in 2007 should have played in the BCS championship game.

I think he is servicable and that the Falcons are worse than the Giants, Packers, and the 49ers

I don't think you can even put him in Tier 3 anymore, he has been a fricking turnover machine the last 2 years

At their best maybe, but you never know which of those teams will show up. Atlanta is consistent, I will give them that. And you don't luck into a 10-1 record in the NFL. But I agree with the premise, they definitely don't look like an unstoppable machine.

Agree here, they cause turnovers in bunches. The difference between the two teams were that the Saints offense was super efficient, and a lot better than the Falcons offense. They beat the shite out of teams. They would kill you running and throwing. But, like the Saints that season, they have had a lot of bounces go their way. I think they win they can win a playoff game, but I trust SF, GB, CHI, and NY more in the playoffs than them.

I know, lots of parity in the NFL now. It's how a marginal team like NYG was able to get on a hot streak and win it last year.
