How do you feel about this?

Personally, it angers me that they're too cheap to pay the credit card processing fees. I'm fine with a minimum charge amount too, but not accepting credit cards in 2012 is ridiculous.

What even makes me more mad is when it says, " no cash, ATM in back."

That is all.

Doesn't bother me. There are places that I go to often that are cash only.Just be prepared.

The cash or check only clause really puzzles me. I could see this in 1998, but not in 2012.

Once this happens to me once, I don't go back for a second visit. Pizza Man in Covington is the only exception for me.

Fleur De Lis in BR and Adolfo's in NOLA.

Two of my favorite spots.

Stopping and getting cash on way is not that hard.

A friend that owns a place in Metairie paid Mastercard $75,000 last year.

He thought about going cash only, but realized it would piss too many people off.

A small business owner would love to have the loyal clientele that doesn't mind paying in cash. Can save them upwards of $30k/year depending on volume.

This is what really pisses me off. They can't afford the CC processing fees but they want me to give them 3 bucks for using the ATM...haha yea right.

It's obvious that places that do this sort of crap don't care about their customers.

The business owner thinks that his customers will come anyway. Traditionally those owners are a bit older.

Pocorello's is a favorite of mine for instance. While I still go pretty often, I've passed it many times because I didn't have sufficient cash on me. I would have stopped in and purchased a number of things almost every time. Oh well I guess.

I pay Visa/MC/Discover/Amex 2.5-2.7% + .30 per transaction.

I think it's fine. Can be slightly inconvenient, but it's not that hard to get some cash. People are way too spoiled with credit cards nowadays.

I'm sure that Pocorello will explain his reasoning to you in a polite and civilized manner.

Not only does the credit card company charge the merchant a fee on the purchase, it also takes the fee from the total transaction, taxes which are not the merchants to keep just collect are also in the fee. Then it will take at least 3 days for the deposit to reach your checking account, so your money is tied up for a few days where cash can help buy supplies, or make payroll on time

I personally hate this. I went to a place the other day and did not see this Cash Only sign until after I ordered. I had to run across the street to go to the ATM. I have not problem being prepared in the future, but that first time is a pain in the arse to find out.

They don't do it for ATM fees, they do it to launder money and tax evade.

As a merchant and a customer, I really like it.

F**k the banks and their parasitic skimming on the entire economy.

My company spends a ~$1M/yr in CC transaction fees. For what? Work? GMAFB.

You know those reward credit cards? You know who pays for those rewards? Not the CC company -- rather, it's the merchant who pays an extra fee at the time of transaction.

Black Card has the highest transaction fee of all (~5% per First Data). In fact the higher the customer's credit limit, the higher the fee.

If you give a crap about local merchants, use cash.

I always use CC at Walmart and other large chains though. Screw them. The world would be a much better place without Walmart. Period.

And the .Gov hates cash because it can be used without their knowledge and therefore could theoretically be spent without them and their owners (banks) getting a piece. Frickin A! They take enough of my hard earned money as it is before I even get it.

Cash. Is. King.

Money Talks. Bullshott walks.
