Mike: where do we stand with the Heisman?
Well, JFF is up there, but to me MT...(pause, pause for effect) has all of the intangibles. I mean this guy went out onto the field to rescue a child about to get hit by a bus...
OMG fricking save my life from this ND hell.

I would not be shocked if overrated Te'o wins the Heisman over Manziel......I mean it would be a story but not shocking.

ESPN pushing an agenda once again.

I understand people are tired of hearing about Te'o. Some of us (including me) are tired of hearing about JFF.
He lost 2 out of 3 of his biggest games. In fact, he was awful in 2 of them - 0 TDs combined, and 3 INTs. Sorry, that is not the stuff of a Heisman QB. Heisman QBs typically win their biggest games, not lose them.
Color me unimpressed by the fact that he built up his stats against Sam Houston State, Southern Methodist, La. Tech, South Carolina State, Arkansas and Auburn. That's an absolute garbage slate that accounts for half of his games.
His stats against the 3 elite opponents were not good in the aggregate.

The only reason people are clamoring so strongly for JFF is because he now plays in the SEC. IF he put up those numbers against Big12 competition, he would just have been a product of a "shitty defensive conference"

Won't disagree. But now you make the jump to a LB. Who's not even the best LB in the country?
The media bias is pushing their agenda.

Manziel should win it and it shouldn't really be a debate. Yes, he had a bad game against LSU but he played ok in his first ever start, which happened to come against Florida (who has the best resume in country), and he went into Tuscaloosa and won.
Normally you may be able to hold the UF and LSU games against him I guess but there is no other candidate that doesn't have similar or worse games themselves.

i'm ready for ND to fade back into irrelevance, but only because i'm tired of reading 400 threads a day from butt hurt posters like OP.

That's a good point. If JFF were in the Big 12, people would say "yeah, but he put up those numbers against garbage defenses and didn't play any elite SEC defenses."
Well, when he played against 3 elite SEC defenses, he played well in 1 game and poorly in 2 games. Overall, not spectacular in his 3 biggest games. Normally, you would lose the Heisman for performing poorly in 2 of your 3 biggest games.

This is true.

The point is the Heisman has always had a severe bias towards ND and the Big Ten. Peyton Manning had an all world year but the Heisman voters decided that was the year they HAD to break all precedent and give it to a defensive player.
Jarvis Jones from UGA is the best linebacker along with Teo in the country but you don't hear a peep about him being a Heisman candidate. The fact that SEC defenses are stacked with numerous stud players hurts SEC defensive players from getting any Heisman mention at all. Once ND finally has a dominant defensive player for the first time in years he's a frontrunner.

Again, I wouldn't say he played "poorly" against UF. Especially considering the circumstances.
Even so, who didn't perform "poorly" in some of their team's biggest games this year?
Who do you think should win? I could get on board with someone outside of Manziel maybe but Te'o even as a contender is a joke and I like the guy and have nothing against ND.
If you want to throw out a name like Marquise Lee or something I'd listen.

Absolutely and this is why I am done with their network unless it's live action.
I understand an opinion, but they truly do make a point to push certain stances as a collective whole.. and I hate that about them. It's clear as day when they are pushing an agenda, and it sucks given their national perception and influence.
