Right, the excuses are tiresome. How do you eliminate excuses? By WINNING THE frickING BIG GAMES ON THE FIELD and thereby capturing another NC. That way, you don't have to endure five thousand posts in which certain individuals expostulate about how our losses are somehow acceptable or the product of some cosmic misfortune.

All the apology in the world won't change the fact that Bama is going to play for another title and LSU is going to a dog bowl and won't win an NC. Only victories on the field can alter that truth.

Well when you lose an all-american on either side of the ball that you expected to have this year and have to replace them with freshman its a little different.

You give us Faulk and we probably don't lose to Florida and TM7 might make the difference on the last drive against Bama.

I'm not happy with the way this season turned out, but I understand why it resulted the way it did and know that a lot of it was because of bad breaks. I also know that the program is in great shape and we will continue to be a NT contender next year.

Did I say we lost...or did I say we STRUGGLED. You do realize that one can win and still STRUGGLE against inferior opponents. Do you dispute my characterization that we STRUGGLED to beat a 5-5 Ole Miss team and a sub-.500 Arkansas team?

I don't care what they looked like. They WON.

Isn't that the bottom line.

I'm absolutely convinced that most of you would want to "lose pretty" than win. You can't convince me otherwise.

Lol. I would bet any sum of money that the next two years will be the worst under miles. A lot of regression, a nega-tiger dream. 2015 will be when we start to pick ourselves up, but our QB position and RB position will be extremely weak, but we may have a good defense if Chavis is around.

The frick?

Bet taken. Name terms.

i know, but then he says they played the same schedule as LSU

i dont really understand.

Bama played the same teams that gave LSU fits and Bama blew them out while LSU struggled with them.

So I am not sure how it is a slight to Bama. All im saying.

Im happy with LSU's season on paper. But it was far from pretty.

You sit back and survey all these teams that are vying to play for a national title, and it doesn't sit well because LSU is better than all of them. Some people are OK with that, I am not.

The fans happy with the season are not posting about it on the rant

Mainly people that want to bitch are posting on the rant so the negativity is higher than normal
I think there's a whole lot of truth to that. Imagine, for just a second, in real life (say, at a sports bar or something):

LSU just finished the game, ends season 10-2 and in the fricking top 10 yet again. One guy starts bitching about Miles etc; a couple people laugh and tell him to STFU, and everybody else just ignores Mr Negativity. Shunned and alone, he gets on Tigerdroppings to rant about how awful everything is.

And conversely, I don't care if you attribute it to bad luck, injuries, suspensions, the Muses, a vast media conspiracy or some other factor, LSU LOST to BAMA in last year's NC, LOST to Florida, LOST to BAMA in Tiger Stadium, and therefore has ZERO national titles in the last half decade, Meanwhile, Bama has two in the last three years and possibly a third this season.

And that is the real bottom line. The utlimate bottom line.

I know you're satisfied with being second best. I'm not.

eh Our offense was putrid that game and I don't think one lineman (no matter how good he is) would have made a significant difference and we shouldn't of needed a TM7 type player to help defeat Bama (and TM7 wasn't the best cover corner at LSU). He could have made a difference in the game but I don't think the last drive, but who knows.

the sloppy wins vs bad teams(aub, townson, ole miss, ark) turn into losses against good teams (ALA, FL)

but you don't care what the ugly wins look like?

if we commit 20 penalties and have 4 turnovers vs Ole Miss and barely win, you don't care, do you?

i mean hey, there is no way that type of play could actually hurt us vs a good opponent.,, nah, no way,, not a chance!

it's a win on paper!!! That's all that matters!!! How dare someone dissect the good and the bad of ANY game

If he mentions those two games, surely barely beating winless AU and very fortunate wins against bottom feeders Arky and Ole miss deserve equal attention.

And also an ugly win against a crappy opponent could hurt you in the polls;which would hurt your chances in to getting in one bowl instead of another. If we were to beat the crap teams by more than 20 points, we wouldn't need to worry about A&M going to the Cotton bowl and not us.

If he said we played the same schedule, I missed that. Sure we played the same West teams, but the discrepancy in difficulty in the East teams is amazing. And next year it is the same thing.

It's always possible, but it's highly unlikely. We're going to be loaded with talent and only one unit (DLine) is a little doubtful. Plus we return an experienced, high caliber QB. I say we win the West next year.

You two are arguing extremes here. Sloppy wins are wins. They should be concerning and give you things to fix, but every team has them. This year we have had way more than we should have, but its been a weird year all around.

And yes Bama has has won those titles, but they were fortunate to get in last year, and if they beat Georgia next week, they will have gotten fortunate again this year. LSU is still 3-4 against Bama with Saban, so its not like they're dominating us
