Who do yall think has been the best LSU pro in the last decade or so ? To me, there are many guys who have had very productive careers but not one guy who has stood out. Interested to get yall take on this. Ryan Clark has had a great career in PItt, Kevin Faulk was a great role player in New England, Kyle Williams is still playing well in Buffalo. What yall think ?

Faneca
Mawae
Yes, they're retired, but they were fantastic in the league.

If you are saying not currently active but in the last decade it has to be Faneca

Yeah he was a great one, Mawai was money too.

I agree. We rarely have guys live up to their college hype.
I would say Bradie James. And I guess Patrick Peterson but it's too early to tell.

Andrew Whitworth is better at his position than anyone that has been listed so far.
Dwayne Bowe has been consistently a top 7 receiver since his 2nd season...best rookie that year over Megatron.

This thread will now start naming every LSU pro in the last 10 years. The answer is Faneca.

If you go "last decade," it pretty much has to be Faneca as he has a great shot at the HOF and I don't think anyone else does based on current body of work. After him, you probably go with Mawae, but I don't think he was as dominant, made as many Pro Bowls, etc. After that, it gets tough, you have very productive but not really dominant players like Bradie James, K. Faulk, and Ryan Clark, and then you have a couple of younger players who have been near the top of the league in their respective positions in D. Bowe and P. Petersen, but they haven't done it as long. Out of those two, I have to give a slight edge to PP because I think it is easier to argue that PP is up there with the super-elite corners such as Revis and Asamwah (sp?) than it is to argue that Bowe is up there with the Johnsons. Plus, PP is a top return man.

Hard to argue w/ these facts.

quote:Well i will take a left tackle that only has given up 23 sacks in nearly 9 years of football...over an above average guard. Not to mention he was blocking for guys like Palmer and Dalton that aren't known for getting the ball out very quickly.
