Unless the arm is extended and the hand is holding the jersey holding will not be called.
Bama is the best because they have a line coach who teaches technique that doesn't cross the line set by the refs.

I saw a couple Bama holds that weren't called. You know what? THAT IS FOOTBALL. That's part of the game and if you hold and don't get caught you just made a helluva play.
Period.
Bama doesn't hold any more than anyone else. There is a holding that occurs on any given play. They are just the best at avoiding the call.

Lol you'd think LSU fans believe that Bama should get called for anything under the sun on every play and they (lsu) should never get called for anything unless its the most blatant infraction ever.
They ignore the fact that Mett should have been flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct on the hand to ear motion he made to the Bama fans.
LSU could have won that game if they'd just stepped up and stopped Bama from scoring 14pts before the half.

Pointing out the obvious isn't crying. Everyone knows Bama is the king at holding. Only a certified idiot would believe they only held once the other night.
I feel like this should go here.

LSU fans will question their coaching in this game for years to come, just like there are Bama fans who still bitch about the officiating in the matchup last November.

Offensive linemen are allowed to use their hands as long as they keep them to the inside of a defenders body, but if they get to the outside of the defender's body, it is a penalty. Its not our fault that your coaches are not teaching these skills. Wanna be mad about it? Be mad at your coaches.

Go watch the tape and tell me how many times Bama does exactly what u said that should be a penalty. I bet u won't do it and be honest about it.

Over their last three meetings, Bama has outscored LSU 48-26, with two of the games being in LSU's home state. Does this make you even more mad?

I'm glad it was just holding. I was thinking it might be steroids.
I feel all better now...

I watched the fricking video that some one posted today about B. Jones and he is clearly holdind his jersey, but hes doing it inside his body. You show me otherwise. Im not saying there is not the ocasional hold, but its not like they hold every goddamn play like some are making it out to be either. And as far as your protect mode defense. Ive never seen any team BLITZ IN PROTECT MODE.

If I had no respect for myself, as many LSU fans apparently have none for themselves, I'd start keeping a list of all the penalties that could be, but aren't called against LSU. Believe me, you guys get away with just as much as Bama does.
Shocking how we all anticipated the crying about refs before the game. It's almost as if it's predictable. Check out this thread where Teague points out how Bama isn't the least penalized SEC team this year and Bama's opponents ARE the least penalized in the SEC before the game even happened. It's as if he knew this thread would happen. LINK

Are u talking about yourself in the third person?
Your refs know not to throw flags in blowouts. Save them for the important times. Makes it look more legit.

This isn't an LSU site. Alabama was called for holding in the game btw. The o line played great though, big part of why Bama pulled off the win.
One time. In the first quarter - and it wasn't a hold, it was a tackle.
bama won and LSU had too many chances to seal the deal and didn't. NO execuses for LSU not putting it away. And bama made the plays at the end to win.
Simple to understand.
But any bama fan has their head on backwards if they don't know bama gets away with murder on the line.
FACT from stats on bama's football website:
In the last six SEC games of 2009, including the SEC title game against the gators, bama had NO holding penalties. Go figure?
This year, one against Mizzou and LSU. Both in the first qtr.
Oh well.

As stated more times than I care to count, by LSU fans as well as Bama fans, it's called technique. Proper technique looks like holding to anyone who is expecting to find it, but not to the officials. Deal with it.

Wow, lots of Bama fans up in here.
