He has all the potential in the world. Crazy good arm, but extremely nonathletic when running. I wish they would coach him to play with more sense of urgency. Is this guy smoking pot too?

I'd give him a C+

:kige:

He's been average. Made some good throws. Made some dumb mistakes.

He hasn't been getting a lot of help either, though. WRs have had the dropsies and the OL has been hit hard. I'd maybe bump him up to a B- if we take into account the situation.

Mettenberger is the most overrated player in LSU history. And I believe that JJ was better...and that hurts to say.

Crazy talk.

And even if true, it's our fanbase's fault for putting too much unfounded stock in a player with virtually no D1 experience. No doubt he's been lackluster this year, but he'll hopefully turn it around.

Mett has thrown more yards and touchdowns than JJ did the whole 2010 regular season, and it would have taken JJ 10 games to put up the same numbers Mett has. The only thing is JJ would have a lead in touchdown passes. Also Mett is working with Slot receivers with the exception of James Wright

We don't need him to be great... An average QB under miles wins 10+ ballgames

People we aren't going deep very often because they are stacking the line for the run and the pocket collapses before he can get the ball deep. That is why we have been throwing short and should continue to do so. We should be mixing in more screens to the RB's and running more counters.

You know what I want to see. Sweep right then Ford or ware and whoever in the back field. Mett quick pitches the ball back to Ford (or ware) on an apparent wide sweep. Then the RB laterals the ball back to Mett towards the other side of the field and have mett chunk it to a wide open JL for a TD.
