The Razr is pretty friendly with water resitence and being made of Kevlar. But if you do break the screen its $250 for a new one.
Any phone in an Otterbox is outdoor friendly,.

My first iPhone lived in an otterbox defender. I killed it. My second also lived in a defender. Killed that one too.

I droped my Rugby in the toliet and the bitch floated. I never had a problem with mine. The only reason I got an Iphone was the texting. I hunt in Tenn and the phone reception sucks unless you're by the camp, high hill. For safety reasons I switched.

My rugby was the only phone to ever last almost the full length of my contract. It was great. It was the original one and I wish I still had it. Only reason it died was because I threw it at somebody off a 2nd floor apt balcony and I missed and hit the sidewalk and the top part popped off. It still worked, but in the process of trying to wedge the flippy part hinge back where it was supposed to be, I cut a few a wires.

I got the life proof after I dunked my iPhone trawling. It must work because i haven't dropped it or gotten it wet since.

Hell if it has that effect I'll take it.

I hate iphones because I hate being a conformist, but if that's what I need to get two years out of a phone then damnit I'm getting it.
The conformist thing to do now is to be nonconformist, so by not conforming you are being a conformist.
I'm on year 3 of my iPhone with an OtterBox. Pretty good reception at the camp too. You can do a lot of shite you don't need but is pretty badass.

I drives me crazy when "iPhone people" flip through their iPhone 24hours a day no matter if you're in a conversation, movie, dinner, etc. I'm getting one now that I need a new contract but it took me saying "well i guess everyone has a smartphone now anyway and there aren't "iPhone people",just people with bad manners." Seriously though, do people that constantly just flip through iphones not drive you crazy? Rant done.

Start carrying something else to throw at people and your phone might last longer

I'm with the Iphone plus Lifeproof crowd.
I've had my 4 in a LifeProof case for a couple months now and I'll never go without one again. I'm notoriously hard on phones due to always being outside, dropping them, getting the full of mud/oil/grease/gas etc. With the Lifeproof case I just take it to the sink and wash it off with soap and water. I love it. It's way less bulky than any Otterbox, slips easily into your pocket, etc. The only downfall(s), which aren't that big of a deal to me is that in order to access the headphone jack you have to remove the little screw in plug and put on the small adapter. Not a huge deal because I use bluetooth to play music in the truck. And not all chargers fit into the port at the bottom. They're great cases though. A buddy of mine through his to the bottom of the pool and left it for about 45 minutes.

iPhone with lifeproof case. Otterbox has gone down the shitter in terms of quality in the last couple years. Also, the lifeproof cases are around 70$!
They're about $20 cheaper on Amazon. Always check amazon for cell phone accessories before you buy anywhere else.

I've been mulling over the possibility of jumping ship from ATT to verizon and the Ravine looks like a good phone. I'm not sure I want to give up on the my smart phone though. I have the htc Inspire and I like it but the "cool, gimicky" factor is fading.

Hows the reception and speakers work in a lifeproof case? Does it decrease the quality of sound at all? I have been a otterbox guy from day 1 but I can tell the quality has been going down the drain.
