Last time Saints had a true "playmaker" on defense?

Counted at least four for Denver last night - Porter (reborn), Bailey, Miller, and Dumervil. Pittsburgh always seems to have them also.
It's early, I overslept, and my memory is fading, but I can't seem to recall the last time we had a guy who was unblockable, or who was a real ballhawk, etc.

Darren Sharper is the closest of memory with his INT's.

I'm confident AT LEAST one of these new guys will be a good pass rusher.
I think that's where Spags' influence will shine most.

I thought Lofton was supposed to be this guy.. But the only time I even noticed him on the field he was getting manhandled in a block and pushed way out of the play.

that D-line in 2000 was awesome. Man I miss those guys
La'Roi Glover- 17 sacks
Joe Johnson- 12 sacks
Darren Howard- 11 sacks

I would have thought Sammy Knight, but cannon makes a good point about that D-Line.

What I wouldn't give to have a Von Miller

Darren Sharper
before that, you'd probably have to go back to LaRoi Glover and before that, Sammy Knight and before that, probably back to Pat Swilling.

It seems like we've been hanging on to "potential" for too long. Waiting for guys to show something. It's gotten old.
