It seems like we've been hanging on to "potential" for too long. Waiting for guys to show something. It's gotten old.
Agreed. There doesn't appear to be anyone on defense who is disruptive. Granted, yesterday they had to deal with a new defense in a game that counts, some new faces, a very well-prepared opponent with a terrific QB, and a lot of distractions to overcome.

Still, this is not a new issue. There is a glaring lack of top-end talent on defense.

I don't know about you but that looked a lot like the same defense from last year. Good bit of blitzing. Good bit of man coverage. Receivers running free. Slow DBs. Jenkins playing 25+ off the line of scrimmage. Invisible LBs. No pass rush.

fwiw-I think the line did a really good job against the run.

TBH, I'm kind of tired of hearing about Galette.

I think Greer, Jenkins and Lofton are top-end type talent. Not elite, but really good.

The front seven needs a major overhaul though.

I'm not a superfan. I don't dress as a storm trooper or the pope or paint my face or whistle loud. shite I left the game with 7minutes left yesterday.

But it's easy to spot the 2006-present saints fans.

Definitely Darren Sharper in 2009. Him, along with Fujita, made all the difference that year and are the reason we won the SB - IMO.
