was watching the game at a sports bar in Metairie. Mett threw a long pass (about 40 yards) for a td, and this idiot complained that Boone? had to wait on the ball.

Said that against Bama, that won't work. Some people can never ever be happy.

Completely agree.

Some "fans" think they know more than the actual coaches. It's pretty sad.

Mett won't throw downfield. So we throw downfield.

Mett throws for almost 200 yards. "Yea, well he should've thrown for 300."

We have over 400 yards total offense. "Yeah, well it should've been 700."

I really don't get these dumb fans that live in some other universe.

I don't see that as negative. He may have a point, Bama's D is unbelievable. I didn't see the play, so I cannot comment if he is correct or not.

He didn't have to wait on the ball at all. Boone turned around and it was right there to be caught.

Rednecks who think they know everything about football are unbearable to listen to. You find them with almost any southern team, LSU has an abundance of them and it is like nails on a chalk board listening to them talk.

Boone was so open that the SMART thing to do was to throw it exactly as Mettenberger did. He left little room for error. It INCREASED Boone's chances of catching it.

Some fail to remember that it's LSU who owns the most wins among BCS schools since 2005 and not Bama, that it's LSU who owns the most SEC wins since 2005 and not Bama, and it's LSU who owns the 5-3 record vs. Bama since 05 and not Bama.

Not saying they not damn good, but this fear/worry or whatever over Bama is way over board based on results of of late.

I had no problem with the pass. Thought it was a good play. The only issue I had with our last game was out FBs missing blocks.

My uncle is an ultimate negatiger too. While watching the game I told my brother to watch when we get back to the tailgate, he's gonna have something negative to say even after this arse kicking.
I hadn't even had a burger completely fixed after the game before he says "they keep making mistakes like that they will lose 2 or 3 games this year."

..and that's why he was sitting in a sports bar rather than on the sideline coaching.

Actually it would have.. Alabama's Defense has been suspect in the passing game the past couple years against us.

2010- JJ fired to Randle on the long TD pass
2011- JJ fired to Shep on what should have been a TD.
2012- Many guys were open downfield but JJ wouldn't release it.

Also on the play Mett played the safety perfectly..

He targeted the slot the entire time.. Starred him down even. That's what got the safety to bite on the inside route.

He turns his shoulders and finds him wide open downfield.

Boone was in a different zip code from the closest Husky defender. Underthrowing the pass was the absolute correct thing to do. Trying to lead him on that throw would be like hitting directly to a pin tucked between a sand trap and a lake from 180 yards out, instead of hitting to the middle of the green, when you have a 4 stroke lead.

I had the same thoughts last season when watching plays that worked against lesser defenses. In the SECCG I got real worried about a rematch.

Reminds me of the guy who called into the post-game show complaining about all the blocks Copeland supposedly missed (he said his son was the 3rd string fullback). Hanagriff said something to the effect of "they had 450 yards of offense - how many blocks could he have missed?"

I was a receiver in high school. Our QBs were tought to always under-throw a receiver who is that wide open for fear of an over-throw.
