With the Bulls pretty much out of the top spot in the East, I was trying to figure how the standings will shake out. Miami is the best team, but they tend to cruise through the regular season and might have a bit of a championship hangover. Imo, Indy, Atlanta and Orlando have taken steps back. So that just leaves Boston and NY ahead of Philly. The Sixers made by far the biggest pick-ups this offseason in the East and almost re-tooled their whole line-up. It's young (but not too young), deep and experienced. I'm guessing this is the top 8 in the East (regular season record).

1. Sixers
2. Boston
3. Miami
4. New York
5. Indy
6. Atlanta
7. Bucks
8. Bulls

Just a horrible conference this year. I had to stretch to get 8 decent teams.

If by win do you mean win the conference and go to the finals? Or just get the first seed? I don't think either has much of a chance at happening, but I'd put the chance of them reaching the finals at something like .00001% and them getting the top seed maybe 5-10%

Depends on how big of a leap Evan Turner makes. Everyone seems to be expecting him to break out, but you never know.

And don't sleep on the Bulls. They'll still play nasty defense with Thibs.

If healthy, Jersey should be in the playoffs.

So the addition of Bynum and Jason Richardson takes them from the 8th seed to the 1st seed in one year?

Child please.

Those predictions are quite horrible. Miami 3rd? Barring injuries, no way. The bulls even without rose are a top 5 team

Who is going to score the ball for Philly when they need buckets?

1. Miami
2. NY Knicks
3. Boston
4. Indiana
5. Brooklyn
6. Philadelphia
7. Chicago (I'm a die-hard Bulls fan, but I the highest I can them is a 5th seed, and thats a stretch considering how conservative they'll be with bringing Rose back)
8. Atlanta or Washington

No. They will have a solid team though.

No way Miami doesn't finish with the 1 seed unless they have major injuries. Best I could see Sixers doing is 2 or 3 seed with ECF loss to Miami. Realistically, I think they finish as the 4th seed and go out in the semi's again.

Lot of pressure on the two fellas in my signature.

7. Bucks
8. Bulls
i got:

1. NY knicks- i think theyre a team built for the regular season(MELO!) and can win alot of games, but arent built for the playoffs
2 miami- theyre talented enough to just coast and get this seed. they might have some injuries(wade) that'll keep them from putting up huge regular season numbers
3. indy- putting it all together, limited in the post season by lack of star power, but they have enough to win lots of regular season games. beat out brooklyn b/c theyre blue collar work ethic important in the regular season, but the nets are a better playoff bet
4.brooklyn- enough star power to secure home court advantage in the first
5. bahstin- they save they're A-game for the post season. they'll give the new youngins lots of minutes to break them in and rest the old vets while RR balls
6. philly- they will miss iggy and all the little things he did. bynum is obviously a talent upgrade, but hes only had one season of good health(last year), but not convinced hes a n 80 games per year guy.
7. chicago- will miss rose and his offense, and miss the depth theyve lost, but i think thibs will have them winning enough games with D/rebounding to secure the 7th seed
8. cleveland- maybe a bit surprising, but i think they eek out a playoff birth. kyrie leads a young team of promising players into the 2nd season

sinking: magic, hawks
team to watch for the 2013-2014 season: detroit pistons

bash away

Not a chance.

I'm okay with the rest of the picks

as another Bulls fan(wondering why I still care) I basically agree but think Indiana will be better than Boston or the Knicks.
