I doubt they'll do midget jousting. I think Joffrey will somehow get his way and serve Sansa Robb's head, which will make Tyrion go apeshit.
meh. Joff can just call him a south pole elf to do that.

One of my favorite moments was when Joffrey died; I was thinking, "it's about damn time."
Although, I think that Janos Slynt's death was the most satisfying frick-yeah moment in the books. A poster on here said that Stannis has to do the nod like this gif:

This may have elicited some happy profanity.

Daenerys Targaryen's visions in the House of the Undying include an image of Rhaegar with his newborn son Aegon, proclaiming that "there must be a third" because "the dragon has three heads". Given that, according to Jon Connington, Rhaegar's wife Elia was believed infertile after two difficult pregnancies, and that Aegon the Conqueror himself had two wives, it is logical for Rhaegar to have attempted to fulfill prophecy by having a third child with another woman. Another of the visions Daenerys sees is the image of a blue winter rose growing from a chink in a wall of ice, filling the air with sweetness. Lyanna was noted by Ned to be fond of winter roses, and he associates them with her death. Jon, who could be the product of Lyanna, is currently at the Wall.
Also, in further reference to Aegon, he had 2 lovers in his sisters. Jon has had one in Ygritte and possibly Dany.
But whatevs.

Out of all the speculation and theories out there does anybody think there are any that GRRM doesn't tie up by the end of the series? Assuming he lives long enough to actually finish the series in the first place.
There's just so many theories out there that I can only see two ends to ASOIAF
1. He doesn't tie up all these loose ends
Or
2. These next two books will be filled with action from start to finish and simply be amazing

Are we discussing DoD: TP& TQ in here yet?

the only that sort of bugs me is that Jon, in his current form, burned.

Not yet; there's a thread on this page (can't imagine it being past page 2) for discussion until everyone catches up.

My issue with southron ambitions is where does Blackfish Tully fit in? Who was he suppose to marry, where was he during Robert's Rebellion?
He refused to marry. He may be gay.

He'll get along famously with Loras then.

I read a theory once about how the Blackfish and Ser Barristan had a thing for each other during the War of the Ninepenny Kings and that was why Barry took the white and Blackfish never married.

To me that would nullify the theory, had he known and refused marriage? (to whom?) could be worse?
He was the hero of the War of the Ninepenny Kings, yet no mention in Robert's Rebellion. Where was he?
Was he at the Battle of the Trident?
Did he refuse the 'Southron Alliance' and take cover in the Vale? (Friend or Foe of Jon Snow)

I think that he let his writing run away from him after book 2. There are way too many possible outcomes that he has foreshadowed and I think thats probably the honest reason that he is taking so long to write books, despite the multiple other projects he makes time to complete every year. If you have read the Dunk and Egg Novels along with books 1-5 you've probably noticed this. 90% of the foreshadowing for the story as a whole was done in Book 1 when he intended a 3 book series. I just want to see it finished at this point.
According to the mixed responses from his interviews I'm pretty certain that he isn't decided on what it means to be a head of the dragon, a dragon rider, a Targ, a worg, or how any of those correlate with the others. Dany has been immune to fire and then suddenly not about 3 times now. He hinted at Robb's wife being with child before completely debunking that idea in the show. And god only knows if Arthur Dayne is Mance Rayder, I feel like a mosh of his fan forums could have finished the thing off by now.

Joffrey got off a tad easy for my liking, but Slynt died exactly the way he deserved.

Joffrey's death was anti climatic; even when I was a Hodor I figured that he wouldn't stay alive as king for the whole series.
Plus South Park ruined it for the Hodors by saying he gets poisoned .

I think the last book debunked that theory, when you find out that Ser Barristan was in love with Arthur Dayne's sister.

That's what I figured too; otherwise it would be an interesting theory.
Barristan was/is so much older than Ashara.
I myself buy into the Crackpot theory that Ashara=Jyanna Reed, and that she faked her death and is Meera and Jojen's mother and Howland's wife.

I know this probably a johnny come lately revelation, but I realized that the reason Dany wakes up in the Dorthraki Sea and a familiar khalisar is because of something that was foreshadowed by Jorah in Quarth. He had said that the Dothraki would never follow her unless she had power, Well conquering 3 cities and having become a novice Dragon rider is pretty damn powerful. Being in the Dothraki sea allows her to recruit more Dothraki to her cause and consolidate her light cavalry.
Sorry if I'm late to the party on this realization.

It's perfectly ok . A lot of readers think she's going to lead a Dothraki Khalasar back to Mereen.
Also, this is somewhat MAJOR news, although maybe I'm being a bit optimistic. Roy Dotrice, the man who does the narration for all the ASOIAF audiobooks, revealed something in a recent interview:
Roy Dotrice says that GRRM said he has to do an audiobook 'really soon'
ASOIAF forum thread talking about the interview
...Could this mean that George will have the book out by Christmas 2014, perhaps? Also, I didn't know this, but Liam Cunningham (Davos) revealed in an interview back in March that GRRM told him that he was halfway through TWoW.
What are y'all's thoughts on GRRM's progress? Could it be that since he's reaching the end (and has known the endgame since he started AGOT) that he's finding it easier to write about, since the journey has reached the destination?
