Tried Monjuni's last night

Finally got a chance to go, used one of the 225 magazine coupons.
Went to the Jefferson location. Great service, nice atmosphere. The house bread with sweet marinara sauce was phenomenal. Toasted ravioli appetizer, likewise. Of the entrees we got, the lasagna and spaghetti & meatballs were the best. The chicken parmesan was ok. The muffuletta was very good.
I will definitely go back.

I like my sauce without 15lbs of sugar/cup in it. Am I the only one?

I am also in agreeance. We went there a couple of weeks ago for dinner and I skipped all the entrees with red sauce.

I almost walked out of the Highland location I was so mad.
Worst meal I've had anywhere.

I wrote this place off about four years ago after three disastrous dining experiences. The red sauce is enough to make me gag. I'm surprised they're still in business.
Say, your name isn't Monjuni is it?

I am with you there, not a fan of sweet sauce. Some people love it though

I thought the highland location closed

Way, WAY too sweet for my taste.

I've had the sauce, though I haven't eaten at the BR restaurant. WAY too sweet for my taste. Lots of folks apparently like that, though. Zach uses that sauce all the time for Lucy's meals.

It closed a while back. I understand why though.
Just awful.

i, myself, have never eaten there or tried the sauce. but if it is as sweet as everyone says, there is no way i would like it...i hate sweet sauces.

Traditional Sicilian red gravy is typically sweet.
Besides the basic garlic and italian seasoning, not much else is added.
Been a long time since I had Monjuni's. I used to use there store bought pizza sauce when I was in a hurry for my red gravy base back in the day. But that was over 10 years ago.
I'm guessing they have taken over the top as far as sweetness? Does anybody actually like it?
The place does a great business from what I can tell.

From the tomatoes, not from sugar.

Monjuni's .. man I haven't been since I went to the original one in Shreveport years ago. I miss that sauce.

Wrong.
I have a family full of MaryAnn's, Virginia's, Rosie's and Joanna's that would disagree.
