I think they're both great, but I usually think of Elba as the cool badass. Ejiofor probably has more range from what I've seen.

Hard to say.

If I was going to cast the first black Bond though, I'd go with Ejiofor.

Both are great actors though. Enjoy them in all of their roles.

John Luther x Stringer Bell. I'm guessing he thought Luther was first name

eta: And as much as I like Chiwetel I'm taking Idris on the strength of Luther

I think Elba has a wide range.

He is just a huge dude. I think his size gets him typecast.

Hopefully he gets some roles to display this.

Looks like he is rumored to be playing Nelson Mandela in the upcoming Long Walk to Freedom. Hopefully he will show his chops.

James Bond should never be black, but good for you for drinking the liberal Kool-Aid.

They are both some of the best actors out there. Top tier. But let's be racist here I mean honest, they're aren't a ton of great black actors out there. Jk lol jk. Serious though.

there aren's a ton of great actors, period.

You would expect great black actors to represent 12-15% of current great American actors.
