re: Which Movies Were Actually Much Better Than The Books?
Posted by Bugbot on 1/21/13 at 11:15 pm
Two movies I watched recently that I thought were better than the books were Cloud Atlas and Life of Pi.
Cloud Atlas streamlined most of the major plot points from the book.
Life of Pi's ending was more emotional than the book, even though it was almost the same....

The critics seem to either the really love or really hate it. There doesn't seem to be any of them that are on the fence.
I'm reading the book right now, and I'd be surprised if they can pull it off without it being a little confusing to those who are not familiar with the book. ...

Ever since the Schism storyline, Cyclops is such a douche. I'm not sure why anyone would have sided with him and stayed on Utopia.
I was really hoping that he was gonna be the big death at the end of AvX.. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the Marvel Universe reacts to him now. ...

[quote]I thought it was an average book till the ending. It makes the book amazing

This.
The book had several long stretches of slow parts, but overall I liked it. REALLY curious to see to close they stick to the book's ending....

I love well done time travel stories and this one looks fantastic. The reviews have been solid. It's currently sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with 23 reviews.
Definitely checking it out. ...

If I remember correctly, new episodes don't go up on Instant Watch until the entire season is done. Probably when the DVD set is released.
There's always Usenet/torrents....

I'm about halfway through The Drawing of the Three and I'm really enjoying it. It's good stuff.

Yes please.
James Franco would be good for Eddie, too. I assume they'll cast some lesser known kid actor for Jake. ...

Completely agree about Eastwood. I like Javier Bardem, but he was totally wrong for the role.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt would make a great Eddie....
