I'll put it this way, it was the worst I have ever seen that bay or any bay for that matter, we lost a fricking rod out of the holder.
Also this guys laughs at us in our sissy offshore and bay boats....

Well they were at least 4 footers, ask someone who was in it like 34venture. It was a pretty big topic back at the marina how bad it was, wind was blowing 50 mph
Luckily by that time I was back at the camp doing so good morning drinking.

Would you be comfortable in going off shore in a 24 foot young bay boat?
I ask b/c I was thinking about buying one.

I'd be comfortable going offshore in about any bay boat with calm seas and blue skies, but not 30 miles off under any conditions.
That one does look nice.

I've run from Grand Isle (Barataria Pass) to the mouth of Southwest Pass in a 21 ft bay boat.
Only did it once. Was following a 25 ft Sea Cat. I was not very enjoyable.
Ran from Grand Isle to Red Pass then down to South Pass or out of Main Pass countless times in the bay boat. Still not very comfortable though.

We're considering it in the right weather with another boat running parallel.

4 Footballl Players missing from Fishing Trip (2009)
Not sure if anyone remembers this, but three of the 4 never made it back. They were anchored on a reef about 50 miles out and the rope became entangled in the prop. Turned the boat Stern to the wind and it was over in an instant. Found the lone survivor 48 hours later clinging to the motor with the boat capsized while adrift.

Actually that is not quite correct. They were in a 21' everglades. They were anchored and once they finished fishing, went to pull the anchor and it was stuck. Their next move is what killed 3 of them. Since Marquis had just lost an anchor having to cut the line a few weeks before, he didnt want to have to cut the line and buy another one. So they tied the anchor line to the stern and nailed the throttle. THATS what capsized the vessel. Still tragic.
