I don't know if the area could support it but I absolutely would. MLB is pretty much the only thing I really miss about living in Dallas. OK, the Mexican food and BBQ were pretty good, too.

Hell half of Lsu and saints fan weren't big fans of them until they started . I love the.cubs but I would switch to a local team and pull for the cubs outside of my new team.

Would have to be an indoor stadium because not too many people are going to sit and watch MLB in the middle of a south louisiana summer

Is there anywhere in downtown NOLA (or near the desirable areas) where there is room for a nice ballpark? It seems like there is no room anywhere in the city from the times I've been there. I know there will never be an MLB team, but a really nice minor league park in the middle of the city for the Zephyrs would be awesome IMO.

I can think of a few things that could be leveled to make room. Not necessarily downtown but close enough.
ETA: Now I'm sitting at work laughing about how fantastic a NOLA city council meeting would be where if they were going to have a serious discussion on tearing down the Iberville Projects to make room for a baseball stadium. It would be incredible.

It'll never happen because not only would they have a hard time drawing attendance, they'd never find the corporate sponsorship in the city of New Orleans. Not enough big corporations here for three professional sports teams. They'd never be able to sell the luxury boxes/suites needed for revenue.
I'm a Pirates fan. That wouldn't change. I'd probably get season tickets and attend almost all the games though because I love the game of baseball.

This looks to be the first winning season of my lifetime that I can actually remember.
That good enough for you, bitchass?

Yep
Right down by the river near the convention center. Same spot they talked about putting a new stadium for the Saints when Benson was threatening to move the team if a new stadium/Superdome upgrades weren't made.

These fake arse fans of other teams say no in here to try to seem like super fan.
I don't see why they wouldn't support an expansion team in their home state.

It's because they are douchebags.

I have never gotten into the MLB, partly because I didn't have a team to support, and partly because baseball just doesn't do it for me at all.
That being said, if there was a pro team in New Orleans, I'd be all over it.

why would you need to replace them? their seasons are at different times during the calendar year, for the most part.

They have DQ in the New Orleans metro area

Hell yes. The only reason I don't have a favorite MLB team is because LA doesn't have one. Was the same with the NBA before we got the Hornets.

Would definitely support the hell out of it. I loosely pull for the padres but for the most part dislike MLB since I'm. Not really passionate about any team.
